More about me

I have led a life full of surprises. I was born in Colgate Oklahoma in a tent while my parents were on a fishing trip. I was told that I was the boggest fish they caught that day. I guess I was born under a sign that said This person will always love fishing. My mother is a full bloded Cherokee and my Dad was a French Cajun/Apache. I have alot of Indian blood runnning thru my veins and I have recently started to research my family to see what I can find.

I do like to fish but not hunt. I like to sit on a bank and just relax and think about nothing. I love being in a boat on a lake before all the skiers and fast boaters get out. I guess that is why I show up at 3am to 9am.  I have always wanted to compete in a Bass Fishing contest but I can only dream and watch them at shows and on TV.

I grew up in a small town in the Texas Panhandle. It was about 2 hours from Abilene the largest town. I enjoyed it because it was a farming community and every one knew everyone else.  If you did something wrong they always knew who your parents were, so you knew you would be turned in.

When I was 18 I enlisted in the Airforce in 1966. I was stationed in Kelly AFB in Texas. I was trained as a flight mechanic. After going thru basic I was sent to California to Travis AFB. I got fuirther training on the flight line and advanced up the lader. I was sent to Vietnam in December of 1967. I served 2 tours and was sent to Guam for a tour. I was then sent back to Kelly AFB. I was then sent back to Guam until another tour in Vietnam. When 1970 hit I was back in the states.  I served my time and left in 1972.

I got a job at Bell Helicopter in Ft. Worth Texas.  I was there until I decided to go to school and get a degree in the computer field as a programmer in 1985. I used my VA benefits to get an education.  I went to a junior college to get several courses out of the way. Then I enrolled in DeVry in 1986. It was a wonderful place to learn because the classes were small and I received quite a bit of help. I graduated in 1988 and was ready to get at a new life. I was a bit older that the others but it worked in my favor because they looked at me as a stable worker.

I found a job at IBM where I actually did learn quite alot and took all the required brush up classes they offerred. I also went back to school and got a Masters. It was like a whole world opened up.  Then in 1990 I was transfered to Arizona and was a supervisor there until I came back to Texas in 2000. I loved it out there but my Mom was ill so I knew it was time to come back.

I was downsized in 2002 and decided to go into business with 3 of my friends from school. We formed a group that sent IT people out to your business or home and helped you with problems. We were doing very well until 2008 with the down turn of the economy. We are still together but we are taking on more offers that get us in the door to show what we can do at a lesser price than we used to charge.

I have 2 kids, a son who is 34 and a daughter who is 26. My son is a IT person and is still in school plus working full time. He keeps saying something new comes up and he wants to be prepared. I am proud to say he is doing much better than I did because he knew at an early age what he wanted to do.

My daughter is a district manager for Nordstroms. She has been with them for 5 years. She started as a sales clerk and worked her way up. She says that the only reason she stays is because she loves the discount.

My wife is a retired Customer Sales Manager/Supervisor. She worked for Telephone Companies for over 26 years. She became disabled due to health in 2004 and had to scale down her life. Then like a trooper she bounced back and is again ready to take on the world.  She decided she was not going to let a little problem like running around in a Hoveroundstop her. She has taken the chance to start back to school to become a Real Estate Agent. She said she wants to one of those who can roll up in a Hoveround and close a deal.
