Today, I learned, via the internet, that my dad has passed November 22, 2007 -
my dad, William James Robinson, passed on May 11, 2007. It feels odd to realize that I am the only one of the four in my core family - my brother passed in 2001, mother in 2006 and dad in 2007. I am reflecting on how much family I have around me now - how much I have to be grateful for on Thanksgiving . . . my life is so wonderfully different from anything I could have ever imagined . . . I never would have believed that I would like myself and that I could be loved as much as I am from my husband and my friends, and our kids and grandkids. Life is good and I just need to be centered there where I am now and not in the past.

silent passing January 4, 2007
yesterday I discovered through internet research that my mother had passed on January 26, 2006. Found verification through SSA but didn't find any written obituary - just the following: THELMA H. ROBINSON Thelma was born on October 15, 1924. Thelma passed away on Thursday January 26, 2006. Thelma was last known to be living in Hayward, California. I think that the act of creating this pictorial of my life is helping me to focus on the positives right now.

Phil December 2, 2006 - shriner's toy ride
mark and phil brave the cold to be part of 6000 other bikers who gathered in Portland for this shriner's hospital fund raiser. to put it mildly, they loved seeing and being part of that huge group of bikes . . . even the max trains had to bow to the riders of this event, thanks to the direction of portland's police officers that were directing traffic.

the rogue July 15, 2006 - southern oregon
Destination: Jacksonville OR for the Blues Traveler concert at the Britt. Rode the bike there and really enjoyed the ride. Rode along the rogue and came back via the coast where we were buffeted by heavy winds that actually blew a b-b-q grill out of the truck bed right ahead of us. It came flying right at us and Mark missed hitting it by a couple of inches. Wow, that was scary and a reminder that being on the bike is BEING in the road, unlike being in a car.
