  • What I want April 10, 2002 - Lowell, Massachusetts

After a few rather eye opening volunteer museum slots, I got a job, a real paying museum job with a title, Museum Teacher or MT for the Tsongas Industrial History Center, U/Mass-Lowell Graduate School of Education. The Lowell National Historic Park is the back drop of a cooperative site between the National Park Service and a public institution of higher education. Some 60,000 children from across the country for a one day experience at the site of a historic moment, the Industrial Revolution. America would decide to become industrial and the merger of investment, labor, machines, and energy came together to mass produce cotton cloth, the first such product in America. I will teach children the scientific changes and the use of technology in America.

  • Graduation/Harvard Univ June 10, 2001 - Cambridge, MA

POMP AND CEREMONY It took me 4 years to do a one year Certificate program, Museum Studies! I could not think or write as fast as some of the kids! The Dean let me stretch it out, but I made it! I worked in Collection Management at Minuteman National Historic Park and an "internship" at the Museum of Science in Boston.

  • Retirement August 12, 1999 - Boston, MA

25 years of teaching physicians in the proper use of antibiotics and psychiatric medicines has left me wondering, "they walk among us". Pharmaceuticals are a treatment, not a diagnosis. What is it that people do not understand that medicines are expensive because it costs a ton of money to research? People just enjoy their cigarettes and beer too much.

  • First day as a "grad student" September 20, 1997 - Cambridge, MA

HARVARD HALL, FULL TO CAPACITY (250) The dinn is intense, some obviously did not shower, ...all the humanity! The dean speaks, "how many of you own an Apple Computer, if you don't, you will not finish your work" I bought a G4

  • OUR HOUSE May 13, 1977 - Burlington, MA

It snowed the week before we passed papers, signing on Friday the 13th was not my idea. OUR FIRST HOUSE. I called my father, "I bought a house" "Good for you and where is it", he said "Burlington" "Way out there", "How much?" "$54,000" I said no answer I asked, "you there?" He says, "who the hell are you to buy a $50,000 house, King Farook" Our house is the only house we have ever owned. We have not only raised ourselves and family but watch a post agricultural town develop into the magnificent center of all of Boston northwest suburbs. The house is easily 10X the value. (so much for retirement, Dad)

  • THE WORLD August 10, 1970 - Boston, MA

Done with the Army I have not yet realized how much I have changed, how much things will never be the same, how much I cared and how little I cared. It was a reversal of fortune of loss and grows that would affect me forever. The issue was, I would not find it it out so quick. Back to the world, of flush toilets, girls, good ole mom and pop, ...no more mortars, no more burning shit.
