Camp Grayling May 11, 2008

I and a coworker spent a week up in Camp Grayling which is a military training camp for soldiers preparing for combat or just doing the 2 weeks training for the National Guard. We lived in a little cabin on the base with most of the luxuries of home. We were there to receive messages from loved ones that had either a death, illness, or birth to relay to the soldier. It was an exciting time and we never had to deliver a message as none came.

Tornado in KY February 7, 2008

Was assigned to South Central KY tornadoes. I worked as a manager of client services, working two counties. I mainly was there to mentor caseworlers from the local chapter. I was helping them to understand how to advocate for the client. How to refer clients to other resources, and when all is gone for the client to make sure they get the most for what their immediate disaster caused needs are.

I was assigned to this DR as a Financial Statistical Managment Supervisor. I helped with making sure the money was spent correctly and given correctly to the clients in need. Writing the reports to show where the money went to in either food, clothing, minor home repairs, lodging, medical, and bedding. These are Classes 2,3,4,5. This was a level 4 disaster
