Revision of Thrips, now retitled Z-Gene, was accepted by Enspiren Press, a small, independent publisher with a great track record.

Wrote a book, it won a contest, it got published to little fanfare, horrible editing, and questionable accounting. Two years later, I'd get the rights back and start re-editing it for a second life.

Son Born 2001 - Arizona

Since his birth, my son has become an endless fount of joy and wonder for me, as well as exasperation and pain. I've been a stay-at-home, work-at-home dad to him, and we battle through life each and every day.

The day the music for pay died June 1, 1995

Somewhere around this time is when I last played music in a band, something that I'd been doing since the mid-70s. Kind of wish I hadn't given it up, and in some other universe, it didn't. Just got tired of babysitting. Still play at least once a day, guitar, ukulele, recorder, bongos, something.

As with everything else in my life before the age of yesterday, I wish I'd known then what I know now. Ill prepared for life, I made a mess of my first real time away from home, but not so bad as some. As my dad told me when he learned I'd joined, if I'd stayed in, I'd have retired 14 years ago with a pension...and probably a roaring drinking habit. :-)
