I published When The Crow Sings after a very long creative process which took 12 years to finish. Based on my family history, it is a semi-autobiographical story about women who have abandoned their children over three generations, and how one woman had the courage to break the chains.

Almost didn't make it. In between divorce, drug and alcohol abuse and loss of my son, getting the degree was a major milestone. A BA in history. Never used it, but at least I did it!

Leaving London 1979 - San Francisco

Left London for San Francisco to start a journey towards Australia. I never made it. I met my husband of 27 years and counting.

Divorce 1977 - London, England

After trying to make it work and not succeeding, I divorced my husband and left my son in his custody. I was an unfit mother because I spent too much time at the pub in between classes at college.

My son was born and I was delighted to have him, but it was clear from the beginning there were problems.

After giving my daughter up for adoption, it was suggested I go to college. A foreign idea if ever there was one. No one in my family had ever done that. So I did, and eventually went from taking my A' levels to a BA in History
