I posted a file
I did not write this book "You Look Sort of Strange", many of you know I illustrate books... this one posted in the files section as a pdf is for your information and comments only. I'm interested in hearing from authors who have had illustrations blended with their words...
The author is a nice 72 year old in Oregon... this is the first of 3 (the other two are on my drawing table as I write.... their target audience is 5 - 7 year olds.
comment me here or as PM...

I'd love to have you write the first chapter
I could not make this up if I tried...
Last week, I was commissioned to paint a portrait of a couple and their dog..... I spent all week getting the man and woman down perfectly, and only had the dog to do. and I knew that a very nice younger woman (actiually a blonde bombshell) walked a Vishla (sort of reddish smaller dog) (which was the same breed as in the reference photo) by me every sunday at Walker's Point, (where I spend painting plein air)...... in fact, I decided to bring some cookies and persuade the dog to sit so I could get it down... 45 minutes of oil pastels later, I turn the painting to show this woman...
her comments,... that's my dog all right, and that's my husband, but who is that woman (a vivacious brunette)? I showed her the reference photo... did you know that locksmiths are available on Sundays?
otherwise I had a wonderfully productive day once my heart stopped going 200mph.
When I got home, I sent him and email telling him nothing other than the painting was ready to be shipped to florida...(at his request)...... the "wife" lives in Boston... I expect to hear from her attorney sometime today...
gotta get the sound track of the Twilight Zone out of my head..... but I'd love to read someone's opening chapter of THIS BOOK.....(lol)

May we be of some assistance?
The Book Illustrators Group is a meeting place for authors and poets to encounter illustrators. Since it has been said that a picture is worth 10,000 words, many of the Group members have successfully collaborated with writers before and are quite capable of bringing your own ideas into a single public image, or numerous smaller images. We've designed book covers for comedians, poets, and novelists, created interior illustrations for children's stories, drawn cartoons for chapter headings, conceptualized stanzas into a work of art, and rendered technical graphics for specific areas of an author's expertise.
We also have a wealth of expertise preparing this artwork for not only the self-publishing agencies, but for the established publishing houses as well. Feel free to stop by and discuss your own publishing and illustrative needs.
