Outrageous crooks at UK and other universities suppressed data contrary to their cocka-mammy "Global Warming" conspiracy theories.

UNFAIR WALMART BASHING REALLY, REALLY P ME OFF!

The reply below is just one of many:

" Walmart - means - Low Quality - No matter what you are buying.

Low cost means low quality. Cheap is made cheap. And usually means you will pay for the same thing again. Better to pay the extra few bucks and buy it once. (That saves you money!)

posted by ...whoever "

I am really sick and tired of Walmart bashing. The gross unfairfness of it is that KMART and even Target and JC Penney (where I shop for clothes) and Sears and all the rest of them sell their vast majority of clothes etc ALSO from CHina, Bangladesh and the like?. So what is different?

There seems to be an anti-walmart Witch-hunting MOB that singles out Walmart ONLY and does not complain ONE BIT when everybody ELSE is doing what Walmart is doing.

The only difference between Walmart and Kmart is that Walmart is well (correction: OUTSTANDING-LY!) managed and profitable (oh, the horror!), while Kmart went broke a few years ago and filed for Ch 11.

Or do you think that by bribing a few celebrities to endorse it, instead of giving YOU that $ in lower prices, Kmart suddenly became any classier than Walmart?

PS I do not shop at Walmart (never, ever, if you can believe it!) NOR did I ever own its shares directly. I am sure my 401k mutual funds, thank god, always did!

Did not worry, but his luck finally ran out..

I wrote:

"I can safely say that not worrying helps live longer. My father, who is 93 now, will turn 94 jan 30, 2010, never worried about much when he was younger. He is the longest lived in his family, and he smoked until he was 67, more than a pack a day, and was not careful about eating, and possibly drinking, when he go out with his buddies. He outlived all his 3 younger sisters. I never expected him to live beyond 70-75, but I believe the thick skin, plus his love of walking and swimming until he was 80ish, helped."

Well, his luck finally ran out. My mother called me this morning, he died a few hours ago of old age and also of a heart incident. I have to fly there in a few hours, they retired back in the old country since 1982.

I called NW first, the lowest fare they had was $3,800 or so, cattle section (coach!). I then called to use my FF miles, had only 43k, needed 60k, and if I bought the extra miles it would cost total $850 or so. FInally I called my travel agent who found me a Lufthansa ticket for $1016 round trip. And they did not even have the 50% "bereavement fare" discount if it is an overseas ticket.

I'll be back... next week.

Some Millionaire Corrupt Congressmen and women pretending to have negative net worth!

because the law does not require them to list the value of their mansions, for one thing...

Maybe we should offer them a low-interest loan from our savings?

"The Clubhouse".. not much traffic there..

I followed the suggestion of the moderators here and posted my joke in the Clubhouse, which I joined.

The problem there is that the group has only 70 members, very few of which are active, and I just checked a day later and there is no response or new messages. (by contrast, this site has ten times the total as well as the active members)

Ths really Pisses me off, and it will even more if

I am not allowed to be PO'd about this either

I just read the news. Unemployment rose to an UNbelievable 10.2%.

DOn't tellme it is about politics, it is Economics. ANd it really s Economic Illiteracy of those that destroyed the US dollar and spent ytrillions they did NOT have, to allegedly bring the unemployment down to 8, remember?

It skyrocketed 10.2% instead! These numbers are NOT numbers of the onetime stellar US economy. These are European Union kind of numbers. And that's REALLY bad, if you know their Econ situation!

PS Everything is connected to politics. How can one be POd about the economy without this reflecting on the very activist but utterly clueless people in the WH and Congress?

Don't be PO'd if y our son is a gay stripper:

"Four friends, who hadn't seen each other in 30 years, reunited at a party. After several drinks, one of the men had to use the rest room.

Those who remained talked about their kids.

The first guy said, "My son is my pride and joy. He started working at a successful company at the bottom of the barrel. He studied Economics and Business Administration and soon began to climb the corporate ladder and now he's the president of the company. He became so rich that he gave his best friend a top of the line Mercedes for his birthday."

The second guy said, "Darn, that's terrific! My son is also my pride and joy. He started working for a big airline company, then went to flight school to become a pilot. Eventually he became a partner in the company, where he owns the majority of its assets. He's so rich that he gave his best friend a brand new jet for his birthday."

The third man said: "Well, that's terrific! My son studied in the best Universities and became an engineer. Then he started his own construction company and is now a multimillionaire. He also gave away something very nice and expensive to his best friend for his birthday: A 30,000 square foot mansion."

The three friends congratulated each other just as the fourth returned from the restroom and asked: "What are all the congratulations for?"

One of the three said: "We were talking about the pride we feel for the Successes of our sons. ..What about your son?"

The fourth man replied: "My son is gay and makes a living dancing as a stripper at a nightclub."

The three friends said: "What a shame...What a disappointment."

The fourth man replied: "No, I'm not ashamed. He's my son and I love him. And he hasn't done too bad either. His birthday was two weeks ago, and he received a beautiful 30,000 square foot mansion, a brand new jet and a top of the line Mercedes from his three boyfriends."

Attaboy Elmer! From the NYT Obits

Elmer Winter, founder of Manpower, dies at 97

"..When Mr. Winter was 95, he bought a red sports car. When he was 96, he passed a driver’s test to renew his license until the age of 104. Three weeks before his death, he drove to Manpower’s headquarters to put in his usual day’s work."

So what pisses me off about the above? Very little, really. I wish they told me what was that red sports car he purchased. A Ferrari perhaps?

Moral to the rest of us: Don't wait that long. Midlife crisis is just fine a time to buy that red Ferrari!

BOY does this Piss me off!!!!!!

I and many others strongly protested the moronic, wasteful, Cash for Clunkers program. Now we have PROOF, from the Very Esteemed folks at Edmunds.com, that it was an even more terrible disaster than even we, its critics, thought.

“Tab: $24,000 Per Vehicle of Taxpayer Cash
October 28, 2009

This summer’s so-called Cash for Clunkers program cost taxpayers $24,000 per vehicle sold, Cash for Clunkers car, according to an analysis by Edmunds.com.

Nearly 690,000 vehicles were sold during the Cash for Clunkers program, officially known as the Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS),

but Edmunds.com analysts indicate that only 125,000 of the sales were incremental. The rest of the sales would have happened anyway.

Analysts divided three billion dollars by 125,000 vehicles to arrive at the average $24,000 per vehicle sold.

As a matter of fact, this $24,000 is not the full extent of the catastrophe, as it does not include the value of the cars and trucks mindlessly scrapped, as well as the cost in energy and wages of that scrapping process.

In summary, it was the dumbest, most mindless, car scrapping program I have Ever Seen.
