Cell Phone Clerks

We've talked a lot about people on their cell phones in stores, in their cars, etc. I'm getting extremely tired of cashiers being on the cell phone while I'm trying to conduct business with them. It happens all the time in my local post office. The clerk will wait on me and the entire time she's on the cell phone. She makes no effort to get off while tending to my business. Now I just returned from the UPS store where yet another clerk was yakking away on the cell phone while he was checking out what I was shipping. Not once did he make an effort to get off the phone while handling my transaction.

If I had a business I'd be sure to give anyone using my establishment my undivided attention.......I know I must be getting old and old fashioned because that's just not how business is conducted in this day and age.

simply "WHAT IS THIS?"

The owners of a large weathly looking CAR are no where to be seen. The car is broken into by people needing shelter for their family. They clean it, sleep in it, work from it, maintain it, and in fact do a new paint job. When the owners are notified the very surprised people refuse to leave because they are such "good" people, proven they and their supporters say by the fact that they took good care of the property.

WHAT IS THIS?????

The owners of a large wealthy looking HOUSE are no where to be seen. The house is broken into by people needing shelter for their family. They clean it, sleep in it, work from it, maintain it, and in fact do a new paint job. When the owners

Wow, Am I good

Well I was wrong about the timing, but I was right about the next step is saving Medicare money to fund the National Health Plan. It only took the powers two days to suggest that pap smears, etc. be done every three years instead of every year.

Christmas is earlier every year

Not sure about you ; but out in my neck of the woods they have been advertising Christmas for sometime now . Kmart and Walmart talking lay away plans ect . I have even seen houses with trees lit up . I am guessing pretty soon it's gonna be a year round thing . I wish just to show these turd's that we don't like them making it a money making scheme ; that people would just refuse to buy presents and just have family over for food and games and maybe watch a movie and watch wally world and the likes go crazy .

Now this is L-O-W!

I was reading the paper this morning and came to an article about a computer virus that widened my eyes. It seems that your computer can be infected with a virus that puts internet child porn on it and you won't even know. The article talked about how some have lost their jobs from it and, one men lost custody of his child. Proving innocence is time consuming and expensive. Even after proven innocent, there will still be some who will doubt. How awful it would be to be enjoying your day and have the internet cops arrest you for kiddy porn and you are totally innocent. It just makes it harder to convict the real offenders as most of them will claim that they were innocently infected and know nothing about it. While it will possibly be able to find the truth, it will still take more time and money to do it. Gee, something else to worry about on these miracles of technology.

Collection Agencies

Yesterday, I received a letter from a collection agency. Supposedly, I have a bad debt to pay Vicky's Secret. Right. I never had a Vicky's account. Didn't know there was such an animal.

So, I called the agency. The three women I spoke to said that the numbers on the letter -- account and client reference -- were invalid. Kept insisting I was reading the wrong letters.

Twenty-five years ago, just after my youngest was born, we needed a new car. I received a call from a dealership in the city where my then husband worked. I assumed he had gone there at lunch or on his way home. Made sense. After all, we were looking for a larger car. Thought the salesman asked to speak to me and that husband supplied the number. Logical assumption but incorrect. They wanted some other woman with the same name who had left her LandRover there to be serviced.

What? Who leaves an expensive car to be serviced without a phone number? What sort of dealership doesn't ask for numbers in advance?

That was the opening shot in a war with collection agencies that would last a decade. The calls and letters always involved hospitals where I was never treated, stores I never patronized (often had no idea where they were!). etc.

Finally, a woman who may have been with the FBI called with a long personal story of a missing child support check and getting piles of my mail. Really? She said that she had my embroidery magazine and my TV Guide. Never subscribed to either and told her so. She thanked me politely . . . I suspected she was acting throughout our entire conversation. My suspicion was confirmed when I never received another fraudulent collection notice again.

When I spoke with these women they asked for my SS # and I refused.

They then blamed me for refusing.

I told them to google my name and see the 53 other documented women with the same.

Wonder how long this will go on?

National Guard...

Who are they guarding? I feel really badly for National Guard members who are deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Yes, I know that the National Guard has been doing this for many, many, years. but some people still believe what recruiters tell them. A gal here in MI, a National Guard soldier, was told that she would NEVER have to serve outside of the U.S. when she enlisted 10 or so years ago. Now she's being told that her unit will head to Afghanistan by December. She now had two small children, and is a single parent and is trying to fight the deployment. Yikes; I can't imagine why anybody would join the military now. They ship them overseas for a set amount of time, and than extend their stays at will. Recruiters will say everything and anything to get them to enlist. I don't get it.

The Dead are Among Us

I have been friends with a gal on the internet for about 10 years. We both joined Eons a couple of years ago and since then she started her own group. About a year ago she became quite ill and passed away in March. After that I asked Eons to remove her as a member and remove the group she managed since it had no activity since she became ill.

I was quite surprised and sad to receive a "birthday notice" from Eons for this deceased friend. Apparently the dead are alive on Eons and shall remain so for all eternity!
