Introducting Myself to the Group!
Hi Everyone,
My husband and I "chucked it all" a few years ago to live in our converted bus for a year, traveling the country (47 states including Alaska). Since then, we've been working part time and just wintering in our rig. It's been quite an adventure (we've had our share of misadventures, too).
Over in the RV group, someone asked me for info on Alaska. Since I actually wrote monthly travel articles about our year for Bus Conversions magazine (I'm sure you're all terribly impressed - it's your second favorite magazine, correct? Right after the New Yorker?), I thought I would upload them periodically (a few a week?) to my blog, sprinkled in with the current posts. In fact, I just posted the introductory article - getting there, the marine highway, taking pets and alcohol through Canada, dealing with the roads. These aren't meant to be definitive travel-to-Alaska posts. You'll see if you read them that they were written with (hopefully) a lot of humor (I developed a bus phobia on our trip and we had many mishaps - one even involved Mounties).
