Enjoy Making Vintage Jewelry
Hi, just thought I would drop in and say hello. Today is my first day. I really enjoy making jewelry from vintage pieces and filigree. What do you do with vintage ...collect, make it, look for it? Dryan327
storage for my crown jewels
Hi,
Nice to see others who love their vintage/antique jewelry. Mine is mostly costume. I started collecting pins and have moved on to sets: matching watches, earrings, bracelets. Not all of my jewelry is old. I have worked with a couple of crafts people that have created some stunning glass bead sets for me. What do you use for storage containers, cleaners, and how do you protect your precious pieces? I have been using fishing tackle boxes with movable dividers. So far so good. I can keep the sets together but separated to avoid any damage. I have collected mostly over Ebay but get tired of the searching and waiting. I love auctions but don't have the time right now to stand around and wait. I wear my pieces everyday. Love the glitz of rhinestones, but wouldn't mind someday owning 'fine jewelry.'

Vintage Jewelry
I was so excited to find this group, and then disappointed to see it wasn't very active. I guess those of us who love old jewelry are not as numerous as I had supposed. I've been collecting jewelry for many years, and love to tell stories and hear about what you have, and where it came from. I'm also interested in buying pieces, many or a few.
Although I am not a glitzy person, I love the old jewelry. especially the big guady rhinestone pieces. It is so well constructed, with a little care, it will last forever.

New to this group ~
Hello to all ~ just found this group and it's interesting, because I have a LOT of vintage jewelry that I have collected and don't know what to do with. I don't wear it, and I haven't tried to sell it yet...but I do love the old earrings, rhinestone jewelry, necklaces, cameos, brooches, you name it! Does anyone have any ideas? Right now it's only taking up space. Also have some newer jewelry as well that I'll never wear.

Hello
I've been a jewelry collector since I was a little girl and begging my grandmother's friends for their old jewelry to play with. I still have some of those "dress up" things and wear them from time to time. Right now I'm wearing my Mickey Mouse watch from my 6th birthday it still runs I wear it about once every other week or so
rejoined
Hello again.....I've rejoined and hope that someone recognizes the mark I've posted in the photos section that's on an an enamaled bracelet that was in my mom's jewelry that I inherited. I've googled it and can find nothing on it! Thanks
Silver Cross...
I found this silver cross at a Good Will store - I just liked it. When I got it home and really looked at it - I see it is pretty kool - does anyone know anything about it and how much it could be worth?
cant believe it!
I found this group! It started with a jewelery box full of curiousities I bought at an estate sale. The estate was of a 90 somthing y/o old lady who had been a traveler, doing her job as a deputy ambassador in different countries. She was also a collector. My husband picked up the jewelry box for me, and it was full of goodies. I went on ebay, got more confused, so I bought a book and started learning. Then I inherited my mother's costume jewelery, as well as her mother's jewlery she had inherited. I bought tools for repair and have been trying to do some refurbishing and repair. Its been fun, and I love to wear it now then, though I dont really dress up much. A brooch on my coat and stuff like that, and have put some of the big pins on a chain. Im still finding out about some of the pieces I got from the estate sale. Im thinking some of them are not going to be found due to them being bought in other countries and maybe local jewelry makers. Nothing is really precious jewels, I dont think, but maybe I should have it looked at. What do ya think? I used to have pics, will post some if I find em.....I have 2 really old, true antique I think if anyone has that expertise let me know and I will get a pic to you. Im just curious, like a little girl in mom's beads.
