Hello?

The patch is working well for me because I "believe" in it this time! I'm on the 21 mg...just quit 2 days ago. It makes me throw up and nauseous when I first put it on, but then I'm fine...the dreams are incredible! I woke myself up laughing 5 times last night...Hubby made me move to the couch lol..

Is all this normal?

Want to quit

Hello all,
I am 65 and started smoking when I was 19. I have tried everything to quit. I have been trying the new Chantix. It makes me very sick. My doctor has ordered it in a smaller dosage so I will be trying it again. I hope it will work for me this time. Need all the help I can get.

A suggestion for all of you in this group

Hi, folks:

I hope you won't be offended when I suggest you join the QUITTERS ARE WINNERS group here at Eons. It's a very large group (243 members as of today). It's also very active. We REALLY support, encourage, cheer each other on. No judgemental stuff allowed...only positive support.

I joined and after 43 years of smoking (and trying to quit), I am now on day 23 without a smoke. Feeling GREAT, too!

Please go read the posts in the QAW group, and all the replies. You'll find so much excellent help!

We'd love to have all ten of you join us....there is strength in numbers! YOU CAN GET FREE!!!

something's not right

On January 1st, I took the first step(again) and also took my first chantix. Yesterday I hardly smoked. Today, I started to take the two tablets I smoked more today than in the last three days. I know you are "supposed to smoke" the first week but I think I am going backwards. Has this happened to anyone else?

Quitting

The hardest part of quitting for me was what to do with my hands. but, I found if I carried some jerky or gum with me it helped.

It is a bad saddiction...............I do know that a craqving lasts 10 seconds. Get through this 10 seconds at a time.

If you need someone to talk to and it does help........feel free to call me.

Can,t stop!!

I am 66 years old. Didn,t start smoking until I went through a divorce at the age of 41. Dumb huh? My husband is gone, my kids are raised and I,m living on a pension and SS., yet I cannot quit these cancer sticks. I have tried it all. Pills, patches, hypnosis, chantix, everything. Nothing works for me. I want to quit so bad, but its such an addiction! Its to the point that when I go to family functions I am ashamed that I have to go outside to have one. I have a big family on my mother,s side and only one other person smokes. Now on my dad,s side we have alot of smokers. Its like two different families. My father died of lung cancer, so you would think that would be an incentive for me to quit. Wrong!! I,m at my wits end. Not only is it beginning to affect my health, but I cannot afford it.
Oh! BTW. Hi! My name is Donna and I,m a retired nurse. Funny huh?
