Learn how to use the Studio Rich Text Editor - Group Post: Using the Studio Rich Text Editor

Browse through past posts - overview mode: Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4Page 5

Don't hesitate to ask questions. We'll do our best to answer!

studio entrance The Studio is a place to exchange information about CSS, HTML and all kinds of web elements - for your Eons Profile or you own website - and to have fun doing it! You are welcome to simply browse the files and posts or jump in and ask and/or answer questions, share code, tips and techniques and/or make recommendations. Tell what worked (or didn't work) for you. Suggest websites or tools and more. If there is something you'd like to share, feel free to post. If there is something you'd like to learn to do, we'll do our best to help!
Different groups have different purposes and different expectations. We're fairly lax in The Studio and welcome any and all questions. We love to help when we can. However, we do have a few rules. The main rule is follow the Eons Community guidelines and Eons Tou's. There are a few other guidelines specific to this group. Out of respect for folks still on dial up and/or with limited bandwidth, please:

1. Don't post videos in the main post. Post a short intro and then put the video in the first reply.
2. Although we enjoy images, too many at once can eat up bandwidth. Please post only one (medium size or smaller) in the main post and put any others in the replies.
3. No "autoplay" on anything is allowed. Always allow folks to start the video, music or soundtrack if they so desire.

RGBA not working on IE9

During my efforts at making skins I have discovered that RGBA isn't working on IE9. Does anyone know if this is something to do with Eons or with an update to IE9 or something else ?

I prefer to use rgba instead of image filters as I find it much more logical.

Yellow Box Removed

I have added a skin to the gallery with the above title which I hope will be of use to new skin makers. Here is the Try it link for anyone wanting to add it to their skin collection view link

Note of caution for beginners : the code in the css section should not be altered.

Problems with Music Widget

ericthedwarf posted this in another thread. I'm moving it to it's own thread so others might notice and be able to help. I'll add pertinent replies that have already been given:

I have a question about my music widget, that you may be able to enlighten me on. I have a music playlist. It functions. However I have several songs that I played sang and recorded, I have them stored and the urls to them on the play list.
I can't hear them, which dosn't really surprise me, as the music widget seems to think that there may be some licencing problems with them, maybe maybe not. however some of my freinds can hear them, that is the part that puzzles me. Any insights?

Fun with Smilies!

Need something a little different for a message or for your Profile Page?
You can click on the image to go to MillanNet www.millan.net Then click on "Smileys" and then on "Letters" in the Free Smiley menu

When that page opens, you can type in what you want and the text will be converted to smileys holding the letters. (Max 15 letters. If you need more, just create another image.) Then copy the code to paste it where you want it. The message below is done with four images with a space in between each image

See inside for more examples of more smilies at millan.net

Specific Widgets

We've shared widget sites where you can go get widgets, but I thought it might be nice to have a thread where we can share specific widgets that might be fun to have on our profile pages.

Some folks like to rotate what is in there widget boxes and have certain ones for certain seasons. So, don't hesitate to share one, even if it is for a specific time of the year.

I usually put other items in my widget boxes (generally coded stuff), but I have used a few ready made widgets. Would love to get some new ideas of fun, safe widgets! I'll share one that I have on my profile now in the first reply.

Another Posting Pictures Question

Hi. I was gone from Eons for a while, and I cannot remember how to post a picture within a discussion. I have successfully posted a pic to a group, but not in a discussion. None of the answers I have found so far fit what I am trying to do, so I will try to be as specific as I can, but bear with me if I am using the wrong terminology!

I am in a discussion. I have a cute pic on the desk top of my computer. I want to post it in a reply. Can't figure out how to do it!

In Mac emails I can just drag and drop it. On traditional networking sites I can just "upload from computer" and it drops right in nice-n-easy.

What am I doing wrong?
