JUKEBOX JIVE GAME

We’re starting Jukebox Jive Game over with a new look!

You must use the first letter of the last word of the song title to provide a new song title. The words “The,” “An,”and “A” do not count. Please post one answer and wait for someone else to reply before you post again.

Let’s start with the song:
White Sports Coat! The next song title should start with the letter “C.”

A Message from Eons CEO, Jeff Taylor

Note: This was posted in the Managers and Moderators group and we were asked to share it with our groups. ~KK

Eons Is Alive and Well and Proud to Serve You!

To all the members of Eons:

Aug. 21, 2009. I want to recognize the buzz in the community about eons.com and address some concerns about our "well-being." This concern results from an article that ran in the Boston Globe view link on Sunday. Keep in mind that the Boston Globe didn't really ask about the current health of Eons, just assumed what it wanted to.

A couple facts: Tributes.com (formerly eons.com Obits) was spun off from eons.com in Feb. 2008. Eons was fast becoming a social network—showing solid growth, and the Obits pillar was showing good growth as well but felt like a killjoy to our BoomBoomBoom vibrancy in the overall community. We made the decision to spin off Obits and create a new company, Tributes.com, with new investors. I am the founder and chairman of that company located in Boston, and 10 of our eons.com employees went with that company. This was a big win for all parties.

Yes, Eons has been challenged over the last year on a number of fronts:

* The economy has impacted display advertising (our main source of revenue), and since October advertising focused on Boomers has slowed down dramatically. As a result, most of the other social sites focused on Boomers have all but disappeared.

* Facebook has garnered more attention in our age group. Eons is much more about making new friends where Facebook is more about existing friends, so from my view there is absolutely room for both.

* Slow growth in our core community. For a number of reasons our current community has found its natural size at about 300,000 active users.

I would like to send a message out to all of you that Eons is Alive and Well and proud to serve our active community of Boomers and beyond. We have thousands of raving fans—You guys! You reach out to us every day to report back on a SKIT (spending your kids inheritance tour) or GRIN (local gathering where everyone meets their online friends in person at a local gathering spot). You love your My Eons, your profile, Eons personal messaging, and the groups setting for constant communication. Eons has evolved into a great platform for vibrant, active personalities of our generation.

Our current size of 12 employees seems more appropriate for the type and size business we've created. We are well funded as a result of our fund-raising done back in 2007, which has given us a solid foundation to weather the current economic storm. We are also actively innovating both in new product ideas for you and new ways to be more efficient by partnering with all of you to support the help desk and provide overall community support.

We have many plans for the Eons community. I would like to ask you to lean in and enjoy your Eons experience and maybe even invite a friend.

Thanks for being part of the Eons family.

Jeff Taylor
CEO, Eons.com

DSL Problems!

I may be offline after tomorrow morning for a few days or so. I have been having problems connecting to my DSL at my house off and on for the past week or so. This weekend it has been a complete NO-GO! Because I am house-sitting for a friend, I have been able to access the Net from her house until tomorrow afternoon when she returns.

While I have been house-sitting I have had the opportunity to check out my router/modem, as well as my ethernet and telephone cables . . . they all work here at my friend's house . . . SO, the problem must be with the connection/wiring at my house. Sheesh! Just one more annoying problem to deal with . . . anyone wanna buy a house?! LOL ~KK
