Good Morning Bloomers!

Yesterday's hunt for a car did not yield any results, I got frustrated early and ended the agony. Today I think I will take a walk through our arboretum.

Good morning!

Today is an"open" day for me which means I have no plans. I may continue my search for a replacement car for my 99 Town & Country. So far I have been disappointment on both what is being offered and sticker prices. I have a few house chores to do before entering the 'outer" world!

Today's Breakfast Photo

My wife would love this! Me, well I am not into heavy carbs. I do make a wholegrain version of pancakes with blueberries and then freeze them. We take them out of the freezer two at the time and zap them for 35 seconds. Because of the 40% whole grains they would never be described as "light as a feather" but they are good for you.

Music in the Gardens

If it does not get too hot we will be headed for the Music in the garden perfomance at our arboretum this evening. A very good local orchestra will be playing tonight.

My favorite comedian

We have been discussing early comedians from TV. I would like to share the greatest clown of them all Red Skelton.

Besides being a great comic He also was an artist, composer, and conductor. The compositions of Red's measure 8,ooo songs and 64 symphonies. He conducted and composed for numerous albums as well as having his selections performed by the likes of Arthur Fiedler, The London Philharmonic and Van Clyburn. One of his best known compositions was Red's, white and blue march.

Please remember that this is being played by a high school band. A little out of tune! This was the only rendition available.

"Life" as we knew it.

Other than this Life Magazine photo I never saw Ed Sullivan without his suit on.
