Hello Fellow Thinkers!

I thought I should take a few moments out of my busy day of dealing with the millions of interesting things that we retired persons deal with on a daily basis and say "Hello!".

Hello!

OK, that about takes care of today's agenda.

Other than that, I would like to pose the following for your consideration; When the Macintosh computer first came out it was marketed to the up-scale, higher end user. Those among us who could afford to pay twice or even three times the amount that PC users pay for a comparable machine (speed, RAM, and drive capacity wise) gaining little more than better graphics handling abilities in return. I say this as a life long Mac user and repair tech by the way.

Now, every now and then Mac releases a new, quantum leap in their OS, the most recent one being OSX 10.6 "Snow Leopard" . As a retired tech and a Mac aficionado I always make it a point to take the time out off my busy schedule to see what the new Q&As are regarding the latest quantum leap. And with each leap the the quality of the questions seem to have taken a turn for the lower and lower and lower with each upgrade until we are left with this year's crop that have the over-all feel of questions garnered from students who ride the "little bus" to the "special school" for half a day of classes moderated heavily by Ritalin, Valium and a dozen or more other psycho-active drugs given to the students and taken by the teachers to make it possible for them to make it through that 4 hour period.

I kid you not! Let me give you two or three examples of the most common questions (see view link to read them for yourself) from this upgrade's crop:

"I havea Sony VAIO with a 2.14Ghz processor and 2G or RAM, can I install OSX Snow Leopard inplase of the Windows Vista that is intsallde on it nowe?"

"Is it legal to install Snow Lepord over Tigar or what?"

"I know I can't install Snow Leopard on a PC but can I install Snow Leopard on my HP?"

"I bought Leopard Server BEFORE Snow Leopard Server was even released. Can I get a sweet deal on Snow Leopard Server now?"

"How do I install Snow Leopard on my new NetBook?"

"Will installing Snow Leopard erase my hard drive?"

"i am now in china ,how can i get the Snow leopard update software, presently i am using MAC 10.5 Tiger "

"Can I use the snow leopard software discs supplied with my just purchased macbook pro to upgrade my intel imac? "

"Can i install Mac OS X from this DVD with replace Windows? "

And finally...

"Can I install the the iMac OS X install DVD in my MacBook Pro, or I must use the MacBook Pro installer DVD? "

The answer to all of these questions begins with "NO YOU MORONIC BONE-HEAD!" and proceeds to get nasty from there, deservedly!

What happened to Mac users being the "up-scale user"? How is it that year after year, upgrade after upgrade the level of Mac user has fallen to such an abysmally low end? It makes me almost ashamed to call myself a MacInHacker!

I thank you.
