Too busy to post lately!

I just stole a few minutes from work (I'm self-employed, so took the time from myself, for myself).

Business has been tremendous the past two weeks, way above average. Meanwhile, I'm spending a lot of time online, researching Ireland for an upcoming vacation. Sandy and I will celebrate our 35th anniversary in October, and we are giving each other a trip to Ireland.

We don't tend to do the "call a travel agent, book a tour" type travel. I go online and book the flight, rental car, plan the route (with time and route open for alteration on the fly), and book the various hotels and B & Bs.

So before I finalize the last 4 nights, any suggestions for mid-August.

We'll be starting in Dublin, then up to Ulster/Northern Ireland for 3 days, back to Dublin, with an overnight trip to the Cliffs of Moher and overnight in Limerick.

Finally, back to Dublin for our last night, then the Saturday morning flight home on the 22nd.

First time to get a passport - Never needed one in my 56 previous years.

First time to Ireland.

Never had Irish food unless you count Bennigan's or home-made shepherd's pie.

I'll try to post photos when I return, but haven't learned how to add them on this forum.

So any sightings yet???

Two threads were started on the bluebonnets and wildflower seekers.

My wife and I are hoping to cross over the Sabine River headed to Boerne, via I-10 or even through Washington County (via Brenham and the Austin Hwy).

So, what's up with any sightings?

Need help with GPS selection

I presently use a Garmin Nuvi 205, but have become very unhappy with using it in and around Houston. Something about how it doesn't interact well with Mapquest that handles the actual routing and directions.

Twice lately, I've entered addresses only to wind up 4 to 8 miles away. It wouldn't direct me to my hotel. When I finally arrived in the parking lot, I used the "Favorites" feature for lodging. Guess what - The nearest hotel was .6 miles away, not the 100 feet to the front door.

So, can anyone here recommend a better choice from all the Tom Toms, Magellans, etc.

I use my GPS for business purposes, but it doesn't make sense to get bad directions even 1 time in 100, as a missed apppoinment can mean a missed sell at best, and a lost customer at worst.

Upcoming Texas trip - 24th-26th

Yes, it'll be a quick weekend trip, but we're heading over to Cat Spring and then up to Brenham to visit the antique mall and shops there on Saturday.

It's just a short trip to celebrate our 34th anniversary. For 3 of the past 4 years, we traveled to Bellville for the antique fair there, but it must have failed as we didn't get a postcard for it this year.

So, any suggestions for antiques in the Brenham area?
