Regret
As we age, most of us reflect back on our life . Many of these thoughts include regret. Some people believe that things happen for a reason and the experience helps us to become a stronger person. I have always tried to learn from my past mistakes, but I question if they happened for a reason. Maybe so.. Many of us crucify ourselves with regret. This is a quote I like:
" One's real life is often the life that one does not lead."
What is the biggest regret you have made with your life?
" One's real life is often the life that one does not lead."

WHAT? ME WORK?
Well now.....After careful assessment...how much longer do you expect you will have to work? The stress...the boredom...the I don't want to be here at this age.....What's your perspective? Mine sucks!
What are some items on your bucket list?
Occasionally, I take time to think about some things and goals I want to do/accomplish before , err, "kicking the bucket"( die), which is an old English expression/phrase. In spite of having traveled extensively, there are still many places I would like to visit. Finding a compatible gentleman with whom to share the balance of my life is also on my list.
There is a movie out now called , "The Bucket List" starring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. Have any of you seen it yet?
As Carlos Castaneda wrote in his books, death is always stalking each and every one of us, and so it's wise to be remember and be aware that at any moment, it could be your 'time'. Not all of us get the luxury of knowing when we're going to die, so crossing-off your bucket list while you're still alive and kicking seems like a smart move to me.
Making a bucket list is a lot like setting goals--goals which are heart-felt dreams that we've never gotten around to doing because a busy life or something else distracted or prevented us from doing them.

Husband Store (and new wives store)
A store that sells new husbands has opened in New York City , where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates:
You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value of the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down e xcept to exit the building!
So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the first floor the sign on the door reads:
Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs.
She is intrigued, but continues to the second floor, where the sign reads:
Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.
'That's nice,' she thinks, 'but I want more..'
So she continues upward. The third floor sign reads:
Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking.
'Wow,' she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.
She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads:
Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help With Housework.
'Oh, mercy me!' she exclaims, 'I can hardly stand it!'
Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads:
Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak.
She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor, where the sign reads:
Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.
PLEASE NOTE:
To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opened a New Wives store just across the street..
The first floor has wives that love sex.
The second floor has wives that love sex and have money and like beer.
The third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors have never been visited.

Hello From Columbia SC
Hello Ladies and Gents,
I'm John. I'm 56 years old. I don't know if I belong in this group.
I was searching the groups list and found this one by coincidence. I was pleasantly surprised to see a few posts that moved my soul. I started to read about: "A Heart That Loves Is Always Young". The posting stirred my emotions. I had someone that my heart truly loved. Addison's Disease took her from me in June of 1999.
Since then, after grieving, I've been searching for a woman who is an independent spirit. A woman who can hold her own, yet feel safe and secure with a nice gentleman like me. I've been to almost ALL of the dating sites and haven't found what I'm searching for. I'm not Adonis, nor am I Shrek. I'm a good looking guy who tries to be at his level best.
I wish for a friendship with a woman that can carry on an intelligent conversation, a traveling partner, and someone to hug and be hugged by.
I miss being with a woman who is considerate of others, faithful, honest, kind and trustworthy.
I have all this love to give and no one to give it to. It hurts!!! I wish for this the most because life is too short to be alone.

Younger men vs older women
I wish there was some one with the answers to "How to find a friend". I'm 72, very active, no significant health problems, except my eyes, however I still drive but not at night. There must be thousands of nice ladies that, like me, have a desire to find that "very nice gentleman", fall in love, and live happily ever after. I read about the millionaire club. But it's not only the millionaires that don't know exactly how to talk to or treat a lady. Espceially the older gentleman. I'm not looking for money. But then on the other hand, I'm not a "nurse with a purse" either. If I had lots of money, I'd start my own senior match business. I would teach the older men how to open up to the ladies. But as someone said, the older men want and look for a sexy young thing. When the truth is known all they are after is diamond rings and money. I'm not after that. I want a friend ship with a gentleman that can carry on an intelligient conversation, a traveling partner, and someone to hug and be hugged by. But trust me, after almost 4 years being a widow, I have given up that idea. I will never get use to living alone. But perhaps I can find a younger man as I read one article that it seems to be a going trend. It is not exactly what I would prefer, but who knows, it might be nicer than I thought. Society has always looked down on women with younger men, but who cares anymore? I can just hear my son and daughter now if I should find a younger man. But that's just tuff. What are your thoughts?

I AM BACK
I AM BACK! I AM ON THE MEND AFTER HAVING FOOT SURGERY. IT HAS TAKEN ALONG TIME TO BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF BED. NOW I FEEL GREAT AND DO ALL THE THINGS I DID BEFORE EXCEPT A LITTLE SLOWER.
I AM NOW RAISING MY 7 YR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER. PICTURE OF HER ON MY PROFILE. I HOPE THIS WON'T DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM WRITING ME ESPECIALLY MALES. IT TAKES A SPECIAL PERSON AT OUR AGE TO WANT TO LOVE A CHILD BUT I KNOW THERE ARE SOME OUT THERE. I WANT TO BE FRIENDS WITH EVERYONE WHO IS SINGLE AND LOOKING.
