Legitimate Work At Home Jobs
I noticed that there was a post similar to this a long time back, that had little response. Well, I will take a stab at it, now that our job situation is much worse than it was at the last post.
The point of the post must have been that there are illegitimate work at home jobs as well. I'm not sure, exactly, what that would involve.....maybe selling your neighbor's stereo...whatever. I think the real point was that there are jobs a lot of people don't like to do...and that must make them "illegitimate" somehow. Or, for people that believe any form of selling is evil and an unworthy endeavor for sure.
I know I could go on and on about the merits of selling....I prefer to use the terms like information sharing, etc....but I won't. I want to talk about the definition of what a job is. It seems a lot of people think you have a job when you show up somewhere, do something, and then get something called a paycheck, with deductions, and such. If you get paid so much for an hour's work, then it is a job.
But, if you get a check from some company, and there are no deductions, that just isn't a job and it must be illegitimate. The fact is, what I have just described is very much a job, like any other....except you are the boss and you get to take care of the deductions yourself. I get checks regularly of the latter variety, and yes, that makes me the boss. It's not so bad being the boss.
Many seniors need jobs that have paychecks, and both kinds of checks can be deposited, which is the point, after all.

New here
Hi, all, new to this site but not to Eons, I just retired and am moving to the Colorado Springs area. I have worked in the public service sector for over 30 years....Corrections for the last 27 + years. I would like a part time job, mainly just to make my self get out of bed in the mornings !!! I suppose Security would be the logical choice, but I would like to do something that makes me, and other people happy for a change...Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated...If you live in the Colorado Springs area and know of any jobs, I would love to hear from you !! Thanks
work-at-home
Does anyone know of any legit firms that offer "work-at-home" opportunities that doesn't involve sales but requires good clerical, computer skills.
I have been helping my sister in a job hunt. She is a very reliable. good worker. Due to a slow down in the economy, her previous employer did away with her job.
If you are aware of a real job opportunity, please email me.
Thanks, Sissy

Thinking about starting your own business?
Starting a Business?
Hi Everyone!
Thought that some of you might be interested in this article from Retirement Jobs.
Have you always wanted to start a business? Do you have a lifetime of experience to draw on? Have you seen how good businesses operate? Would you like to relive the story of Colonel Sanders who started the Kentucky Fried Chicken business while in his sixties? Maybe you would like to start with a business that has already made an oline precense,, and become a distributor, online or off......

Be sure to "do your homework" on anything before you "jump in" I would be glad to share my experiences with you, after working from home for the last 25 years or so!
Just believe in your dreams.......

Online Resumes ...
If any of you out there are looking for a job and wish to have a online presence for a resume take a look at the project I have tried. It took a day to make and was written in MS Web Expressions but can be edited with FrontPage 2003 or with any text editor. I added to the the "back end" of my wife's ( Glo54 ) art website so there are no direct links to it but acts like a independent website without having to pay for a second website. I think it is a good way to get some extra exposure when a prospective employer asks for a resume.

Greetings everyone!
I feel blessed to have become a part of this group. I applied awhile ago and kept watching to see if I'd gotten an invitation, then stopped looking for awhile. In reading the messages here in the past, I learned that the host and hostess sometimes get busy, so I understood why I didn't get the invite right away, but today, I learned that I'd gotten the invitation about 2 days ago. I immediately logged in and found the warmest welcome I've received in awhile from the host of this group.
This is a wonderful group and I hope to bring goodness and blessings to it during my time here. Thank you all. God bless!
