religious wonderings
look at this period of the past ten years i see another religious awakening in america. an awakening of religion in terms of political strength and membership. i also see a great deal of rigidity in interretation. During the next 50 years i believe the pendulum will most likely swing back. how during this time do you see the role of relligion changing in our country?

Raised in and former member of a Protestant denomination, I'm a long-time member of the Baha'i Faith. We Baha'is believe that all revealed religions are like chapters in the book authored by the same, one God, that they all have the same spiritual truths, and that they have been revealed successively (Abraham, Moses, Zoroaster, Krishna, Buddha, Muhammad, Jesus, and for this age, Baha'u'llah) to meet the changing needs and capabilities of humankind. Our central purpose is promoting unity in diversity. We believe in the independent investigation of truth, and do not believe in proselytizing.

CALI BISHOPS LOOSE THEIR MINDS AS THEY DESTROY THEIR CHURCH!
Without using a defense from Scripture, as those who lead in “The Church” (all Christian denominations) must do, they have chose to use secular generalizations and language that is from Scripture but not the actual Scripture itself. We find the Episcopal Bishops bringing about the destruction of the Episcopal Church in the US. If they wish to go against church teaching then by all means start your own church, the US is full of cults and you will fit right in with them. The following is what they have pronounced from the pulpit.
“As Episcopal Bishops of California, we are moved to urge voters to vote “No” on Proposition 8. Jesus calls us to love rather than hate, to give rather than to receive, to live into hope rather than fear. On Tuesday, November 4th, voters in California will be given the opportunity to vote for or against Proposition 8, which would amend the state’s constitution to reserve marriage as only between a man and a woman. Since the California Supreme Court’s ruling in May that civil marriage should be provided to all of the state’s citizens whether the genders of the couple are different or the same, faithful gays and lesbians have entered into marriage as the principle way in which they show their love, devotion and life-long commitment to each other. Furthermore, marriage provides these couples the same legal rights and protections that heterosexual couples take for granted.
Proposition 8 would reverse the court’s decision and withdraw a right given. Proponents of Proposition 8 have suggested that this amendment to the Constitution would protect marriage. We do not believe that marriage of heterosexuals is threatened by same-sex marriage. Rather, the Christian values of monogamy, commitment, love, mutual respect and witness of monogamy are enhanced for all by providing this right to gay and straight alike. Society is strengthened when two people who love each other choose to enter into marriage, engaged in a lifetime of disciplined relationship building that serves as a witness to the importance of love and commitment.”
The Bishops see homosexual relationships as fully moral, yet no generation of previous Christians have found this to be anything other than sin! Monogamy is defined within marriage alone and between a man and a woman period! Note that the bishops simply refer to “two people who love each other.” Once marriage is transformed from the union of a man and a woman into a union without respect to gender and on the claim that marriage is a “fundamental right” how can the number two be anything but arbitrary? What is next marriage between animals and humans and don’t think that with this new liberal insanity pedophiles are far behind. In Europe Muslims are making case law to have arranged marriages between 30 something’s and preteens. They cannot consummate the marriage until the girl reaches the appropriate age in each country (some as young as 15) but that will change with the power base as Muslims dominate the populations and gain voting seats in the respective houses that make the laws.

Now that the true political season is upon us. i would like to know if anyone can efer me to a book or writing by a biblical scholar on the topic of the "antichrist" This term is already being thrown about. May be i am wrong but my hunch is folk who use this 1. do know know the details of what it means or 2, have a lousy vacabulary and aer unable to articulate their extreme dislike so rely on this term like an obscenity.(plus this might offer lots of fun for me)

Would anyone know why were the Irish in the 1850's so much against the St James veresion of the bible? I enjoy reading it. I like the "thes and thous" although it is in conflict with the bible verson I use, the Plaute The Irish dislike was another piece of kindling in the Know Nothing hatred of Catholics

This is his greatest error possible, in seeing Jesus as only a prophet (one who speaks for God) instead of being Almighty God in the flesh! There is ‘Kingdom Theology’ not liberation theology, God’s theology liberates us first from ourselves and then from each other so that we can have better relationship with Him! This statement of the ‘last prophet’ puts him immediately at odds with ‘his Muslim brothers’ because Mohammed was the last prophet. Anything other than this is blasphemy to them! Jesus did not speak for God he being God spoke as God.
“When you read the entire passage from either Isaiah 61 or Luke 4 (vs.18-19 of Luke, Jesus is reading Isaiah 61 in Nazareth at temple) and do not try to understand the passage or the content of the passage in the context of a sound bite, what you see is God's desire for a radical change in a social order that has gone sour.”
Jesus was revolutionary in that the religion of the day was nothing like God wanted it to be. So Jesus being fully man and fully God went about reorganizing religion by abandoning the traditions of man and establishing relationship with God a personal God. This passage is about rejection of the Christ not about a new social order. That however is coming with the establishment of God’s Kingdom on earth! This is about the Year of the Lords favor on his people.
“To say, "I am a Christian" is not enough. Why? Because the Christianity of the slaveholder is not the Christianity of the slave. The God to whom the slaveholders pray as they ride on the decks of the slave ship is not the God to whom the enslaved are praying as they ride beneath the decks on that slave ship.”
God is God of all or none! The slaves were animists and worshipped nature and spirits, they did not pray to the Judeo-Christian concept of God (that does not mean God did not hear their cries). The slave owners were men who with an understanding of Scripture found no condemnation for slavery or ownership of slaves. Rather there are admonitions for slaves to be the best slaves they can be so as to win their masters over to Christ! The men who abused slaves and treated them as property have to stand before the Throne even as you and I will one day and give an account for every word and deed! To use the Dr. Wrights reasoning the Germans did not pray to the same God during WWII. He will have to show me how that works’ in light of Scripture.

This is a real gem, Louis Farrakhan is the enemy of America and the “White Devils” that are here. Meaning you and me and all non-blacks! Regular Islam does not even recognize the Nation of Islam or black Muslims of America they view them as a cult. He hates whites, Jews and Christians. He hates America and wants to destroy its government because it is evil. Pastor Wright believes the government of the United States is evil and he waits for others to destroy it! He has more in common with Farrakhan than with say pastor Rod Parsley.

In the Hebrew Torah when the Lord asks Abram to sacrifice his son Abram responds, “My only son.” He had a step son through Hagar. In the Christian Bible the lord gives up his “only son” (whom Christian believe is the last prophet?) yet it is known that Jesus had a couple of brothers. Then less then 600 years later a new prophet appears Muhammad who begins Islam. (Oh, I just remember Joseph smith and the Mormons another prophet) Is there a group out there that believes that maybe the Lord had another son, besides Jesus?

Ben Stein Confronts Evolutionary Dogma in New Film.
The High Priests of Evolution are out in force some professors have actually told their students to boycott the movie just short of threatening them with lower grades! The American public is going to see just what the elite left of science and academia thinks of them!
Be warned every time you read something about a genetic reference they are off subject that is microevolution or special evolution and not what is at the center of the debate. This is about the creation of the universe and the General Theory of Evolution or Macroevolution, the Rock to Reed Theory of evolution. How matter is eternal and inorganic mater gave rise to living mater and eventually to me and us! All through random chance that defies the science of mathematics (I would love to have the odds of creation happening by the way evolutionists believe and use those odds to run a lottery). Leaving more questions then giving answers. This is about, not religious dogma but evolutionary sciencetific dogma that fails the baloney detector test (named by Carl Sagan). If we point our baloney detectors at the lies perpetrated on our children in the name of science education and the promotion of the evolutionary theory, they would be going off regularly and off the scale! The movie engages in a style more credible than Michale Moore and with far greater due diligence in the accuracy and facts department!
I personally challenge every science teacher every professor of any discipline to see this movie and try it with a mind that works like a parachute, works best when open! Lastly I would ask any student to go see this and discuss this with your parents and science teachers.

I watched the Pope on telvision sunday at yanke stadium was deeply moved by both the setting the ceremony and the man. i also learned a lot about hte religion. on the other hand there is a new book out about the involvement of catholics ib the evangelical political movement. books premice is that although not highly observable cathollics are very involved. this too was news to me just wondering what some ofyou thought about the pope.
