GOOD KILLS
“I’ve seen it all in my brief and pointless life—here a good person cut down in the middle of doing good, there a bad person living a long life of sheer evil. So don’t knock yourself out being good, and don’t go overboard being wise. Believe me, you won’t get anything out of it. But don’t press your luck by being bad, either. And don’t be reckless. Why die needlessly? It’s best to stay in touch with both sides of an issue. A person who fears God deals responsibly with all of reality, not just a piece of it.” (Ecclesiastes 7:15-18, The Message Bible)
We all know evil kills and we all try to be good. We teach our children to be good children. We try not to swear, watch inappropriate shows, etc… We all want to be good. When we get right down to it the moral fiber that runs through out our lives and heritage is not a bad thing there is just one problem.
Often Christians like you and me get attached to the good in life and not the God that rules over our lives and it drains you of life. We attach ourselves to the promises, to the healing, to the church, to our faith; to whatever we think will get us through. We are living in The Kingdom but what good is the Kingdom if we have forgotten the King! What good are our prayers and our songs and sermons if we run around all week long in the Kingdom doing good things all the while forgetting about the King? Loving ‘good’ and not the God who loved you first will kill you! Saul was the poster child for this behavior, he was tall handsome and a great military leader and leader in general! God gave him victory after victory and all that goes with it, the spoils of war! The prophet comes along and says God wants you to go and win this battle with him and do one thing different take nothing away from this no spoils! Saul wins and he takes just select things! Well the prophet says, “what have you done?” For this disobedience your line will not rule Israel ever again! And so it was the Saul lost the most important thing to him the ability to have a generational line of kings from him the first! He did good and worked fro the Kingdom but forgot who the King is and broke his trust with Him!

Cleaning House For 2008
CLEANING HOUSE FOR 2008
Last Week I threw out Worrying, it was getting old and in the way. It
kept me from being me; I couldn't do things God's way.
I threw out a book on MY PAST (Didn't have time to read it anyway).
Replaced it with NEW GOALS, started reading it today.
I threw out hate and bad memories, (Remember how I treasured them so)?
Got me a NEW PHILOSOPHY too, threw out the one from long ago.
Brought in some new books too, called I CAN, I WILL, AND I MUST. Threw
out I might, I think and I ought. WOW, you should've seen the dust.
I ran across an OLD FRIEND, I hadn't talked to in a while. His name is
GOD the Father, and I really like His style.
He helped me to do some cleaning and added some things Himself. Like
PRAYER, HOPE, FAITH and LOVE, Yes... I placed them right on the shelf.
I picked up this special thing and placed it at the front door. I FOUND
IT- its called PEACE. Nothing gets me down anymore.
Yes, I've got my house looking nice. Looks good around the place.
For things like Worry and Trouble there just isn't any space. It's
good to do a little house cleaning, Get rid of the things on the shelf.
It sure makes things brighter; maybe yo u should TRY IT YOURSELF. BE
BLESSED AND BE A BLESSING TO SOMEONE ELSE!!!!
May the Lord open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that you will not have room enough to receive it all. Malachi 3:10.
May the Lord bless you exceedingly abundantly above all you could ever
hope for.
Ephesians 3:20.
Take 60 seconds & Bless someone!

God's Help!
Someone had posted a message in one of the other groups about people and God in today's society. She told of a story of Billy Graham's daughter after Hurricane Katrina's devastation of the Gulf coast. The conversation was about whether or not there really is a God. If so, why would he allow something as devastating as this hurricane to occur? Billy Graham's daughter gave this reply. She stated that God is a gentleman. He never forces his presence on anyone who does not want it. He waits for us to ask him for help. The big question is how many that were affected by the hurricane actually asked God for help? How many that did ask were not answered?
Too many people are trying to go it alone in our society. This is the reason for so much discontent. Maybe we all have too much time on our hands and we use that time for meaningless attempts at happiness. The happiest people that I know are church goers. Not just those who go on Sunday because they think they should, or they were brought up that way, but people who REALLY have a God-filled existence. When you walk with God, you never walk alone.

Christian?
As a new member, I thought I would start by identifying the writing that most influeced my religious thought. It was "Why I am not a Christian" by Bertrand Russell. Has anyone else here read it?
Who is Right?
Hi to all,
I was brought up in the Lutheran faith, and was always told not to question the bible or the Lutheran teachings. As I got older and hopefully wiser, I began studying other religions and noticed many similarities. The more I studied, the more disillusioned I have becomed about my own church. So, who is right? Which religion is the true religion to follow? It really makes me wonder.
