SHARING
I came across this prayer today. Of course I was familiar with the first part, the “Serenity Prayer”, as most people are, but didn’t know there was more to it. I thought I would share it with you.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things
I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that you will make all things right if I surrender to your will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
And supremely happy with you forever in the next.

My Prayers Go Out Also
I think this is group that will be a good source for support and encouragement during the dark hours that everyone encounters. Thank you Ma Bell for creating it and for inviting me. I will be happy to add my prayers to the other members prayers. I believe there is power in numbers. I might not have time to post daily, but be assured I will read everyday and light my candle for each request every night.

Pray for...
me and my husband to get back to US. This has been in my heart so heavy these last few years, and I keep waiting on God. He knows all the ins and outs, just pray that we can be US again real soon. We'll soon be married 38 yrs and I miss US terribly. May God bless and keep us all in His Hands.

Kismet, today is for lots of prayers .
You will remain on my prayer list as it has for days now. Please keep us posted on Jason's diagnoses and treatments. Most of all may God bless you to keep you in the center of His will to be with your son and keeping a prayerful attitude around him. Jason will know God intmately through all of this. What else is there in such a time of need. Bless you and your entire family and Jason for quick recovery or a complete miracle. No on can limit God.

some very special men and women
Today as I write this prayer. I ask God to bless all those who have served our nation and are still living with PTSD. May their hearts be soothed and know that we are thinking of them this day. So be it! Amen

As Requested - thank you.
The Glosa is an early Renaissance form that was developed by poets of the Spanish court in the 14th and 15th centuries. In a Glosa, tribute is paid to another poet. The opening quatrain, called a cabeza, is by another poet, and each of their four lines are used within your poem. The usual rhyme scheme of a glosa is final word rhyming of the 6th, 9th and the borrowed 10th lines.
Because I am not a person who reads poetry or has a favorite poet I am using from hymns and The Psalms.
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul.

There are times
When sleep doesn’t come,
There is a loneliness, a hunger
That needs satisfaction
In the silence of the night.
I am simply me…no savant
So oft-times I feel much need
Within the solitary quiet
To say…in spite of Devil’s taunt
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
The words are such comfort,
Afford much reflection,
On what was, is and will be.
I see His protected sheep,
I see souls of those gone before
In peace and love…on God’s acres.
At times like these
I push aside my doubts
Push aside temptations pressures
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.
It is with such clarity that I see so much
Within the darkness…of a sleepless night.
There is an appreciation of insight
I understand that I am one of the sheep
Straddling the valley of lost and found,
It is me - not Him -who always falters,
Yet He keeps me within his reach,
Placing Himself between me and potential sin,
Sometimes I wonder why He even bothers
He leadeth me besides the still waters.
There are times
When sleep doesn’t come,
There is a loneliness, a hunger
That needs satisfaction
In the silence of the night.
I am simply needing to be whole,
Safe and free from the fears
That can and do keep me constrained,
Glory! I let go of self-binding control
He restoreth my soul.

I'm so touched...
by the prayers that are already posted here and the poems and scriptures. It's been something that's been needed for a long time coming. I would like to see people come back and tell us how God is working in their lives since they added their request so we can all see the power of God and how he uses us all to help one another. Thank you, mabell, for listening to Him and taking the time and effort to begin this group. May God bless us all with laughter, health and peace, and wisdom to know what our prayers are always doing. In Your Blessed Name....

May suffering ones be suffering free
And the fear struck fearless be
May the grieving shed all grief-
And the sick find health relief.
