The "F" Word
I just got a timeout from one of my groups for using it. One week in solitary. This is Eons for Chrissakes, don't we all know these words exist by now? Fuck it!
Desperate for Revenue
Like governments everywhere , during the recent boom years , local governments collected a lot of money in taxes and promptly spent it all , mostly on things they didn't really need . They also gave out a lot of big raises and big benefits increases and hired a lot of workers they didn't really need and in general just acted as if good times would go on forever .
Insurance Companies Love Us
I thought I'd share a few good stories about some of our larger insurance companies and how thoughtful and caring they are for the common man. The first will be in first reply.
Sarah Coming To Montana
Oh golly gee willikers, I can hardly wait! Sarah's coming to Billings to sell her book. Believe it or don't, this liberal is considering attending. Even if it's just curiosity or maybe to demonstrate to the shrill hatemongers on the right that we're not shrill hatemongers. Or perhaps just because I'm a sucker for dimples.
At any rate, the comments from the readers always make more interesting reading than she does. Anyone here "fear" or "despise" Sarah or consider her a "threat"? I don't and don't know anyone who does.

This is good stuff!
Faux News is faking Palin news.
Wednesday's incident occurred when Fox News host Gregg Jarrett mentioned that a Sarah Palin appearance and book signing in Grand Rapids, Michigan had a massive turnout. As footage rolled of a smiling and waving Palin amidst a throng of fans, Jarrett noted that the former Republican vice-presidential candidate is "continuing to draw huge crowds while she's promoting her brand-new book,'' adding that the images being shown were "some of the pictures just coming in to us.... The lines earlier had formed this morning."
However, the video used in the segment was from a 2008 McCain/Palin campaign rally. In response to the minor uproar that arose after clips of Jarrett's report hit the Internet, Fox senior vice-president of news Michael Clemente issued an initial statement saying, "This was a production error in which the copy editor changed a script and didn't alert the control room to update the video."

Glad I'm Not A Sports Fan
When you think you've read it all...
"Egypt has recalled its ambassador to Algeria after World Cup qualifying football matches between the two countries resulted in a number of outbreaks of violence."

Reminds me of the movie Rollerball, when sports acquire such obscene importance as to cause international political strife. Are we headed that way? Too late to turn back?

According to a poll by Public Policy Polling the majority of Republicans think ACORN stole the election... view link
The poll asked this question: "Do you think that Barack Obama legitimately won the Presidential election last year, or do you think that ACORN stole it for him?" The overall top-line is legitimately won 62%, ACORN stole it 26%.
Among Republicans, however, only 27% say Obama actually won the race, with 52% -- an outright majority -- saying that ACORN stole it, and 21% are undecided. Among McCain voters, the breakdown is 31%-49%-20%. By comparison, independents weigh in at 72%-18%-10%, and Democrats are 86%-9%-4%.
ACORN would have had to stuffed the ballot boxes with over 9 million votes...IMPOSSIBLE!
