Each decade brings about a "new" sound, rhythm, and words to music. But, not really. Writers of songs reflect words from their very souls, bringing out what has already been written in times past. All through childhood into adulthood we are exposed to words, rhythms, sounds of music that effect the writings of new songs. We need to write songs that will impact our next generation, and I believe that means going back to many older songs, ballads, disco, and reinventing (so to speak) a new sound with or without words that incorporates all of the past music with the present music of today. Does anyone understand this kind of thinking and desire to write music in this manner?
