Ozark cooking

Hi,
I am from Springfield and my sister would take me for cashew chicken. We also used a lot of black walnuts. I look for them at Christmas time as i like them in fudge. We lived on a farm in Greene county for 17 years of my life and we cooked with persimmons, wild grapes and various wild greens. I liked all of those treats found in a field or the woods. Remember bittersweet? It was an ornamental vine. Happy cooking to All, Helen from Mo.

Midwestern Cooking

Here is a cooking web site I often go to search for recipies. While it doesn't list any Kansas recipies, I know a lot of you are from some of the other states. Anything sound familiar to you? view link

Midwesterner Art

When I go to Iowa to see my kids, I always stop and see my old High School friend Gary Ford, who is a retired art teacher who taught his whole career there. Personally I love his art, but art is pretty subjective. But I thought you would enjoy seeing his life sized Stick FIgures, made of cottonwood. The papier mache torndao isn't his piece, but I thought it was cool. It's all part of an outdoor exhibit sponsered by patrons of the arts. Enjoy!
