Get away

This is my first post as I am a newcomer. I love to travel and especially love warm weather destinations.

Would like to plan a trip to the caribbean in October, but hesitant to go it alone.

Looking for others who like to get away...

Ready to get going!

I've just joined this group - thought I'd say Hello. Interested in meeting others interested in traveling together. I travel alone mostly but would enjoy traveling with fun, easy-going friends too.

But after reading the date of these post....guess I'm not going to do much good here.

so...let's GO!

Hi, I am looking for groups to travel with; not looking for romance, but for travel companions who are fun and compatible. Is this a group in which folks suggest a date and destination and see who's on board?

traveling

So I'm sitting here reading all these messages from primarily single women bemoaning the fact that their friends either won't or can't travel with them. It seems that all of us are looking for travel buddies. How about if, instead of replying to one persons message, we each post a new one stating where we'd like to go and when. Then anyone who might be interested in joining up with that person can send them a private message. I have two trips in mind that I'm interested in: Netherlands by river barge during tulip season and Newfoundland (possibly the Elderhostel trip) in July. Do these ideas rock anyone's else's boat?

Africa in September

Does Africa Safari in Botswana and Zambia sound interesting
and fun. I would like to hear from anyone who would like to go to Africa in September for about a month and stay in small camps with about eight people in the tour and also lean about volunteering in the" Children in the Wilderness"
It would be very rewarding.

Charleston Trip Terrific

As my post below indicates, I went to Charleston, S.C. at the beginning of the month. I enjoyed 50 degree weather with some sprinkles. The city was dressed for Christmas. Several historic homes had special Christmas events. The garden club had decorated one. They had candelight tours, with period actors, in another. I also attended a concert performed by the symphony and a very large gospel choir. That was great fun.

If you ever go, I suggest you read Slaves in the Family first. It will give you a more rounded history of the city. As many people came through the Charleston port as came through Ellis Island. The difference was their race and slave status.

I stayed in the Hampton Inn for about $125 on average per night. It has a central location near the museum, a historic house, and a good French restaraunt. If you need restaraunt recommendations, let me know. I collected all the recommendations from the New York Times and Southern Living over the last several years.

Great trip and plenty more to see next time I go.

Charleston, SC Dec. 2-9, 2008

I am planning a trip to Charleston to see the city dressed up for Christmas. The city has quite a few events planned for that week. See view link
then Charleston Celebrates the 2008 Holiday Season. I'llbe driving from the Central Appalachians, but would love to make a few new friends when we get to Charleston.

Looking for a couple of traveling companions

Hi,

Looking for some travel companions for a nine night trip to the East coast. I am on the West Coast but can have anyone join us.

Arriving in NYC on Oct. 16th in the am, visiting all the tourist spots, a broadway show, restaurants, Sex & the City tour, Ground Zero and everything I can see in 3 days.

Then to Cape Cod - I have never been there and would love to check out the coastline, visit the small villages, cities and the Atlantic. 3 nights there in a summer home on a bay.

Last 3 nights in Boston seeing the sights, historical and enjoying the area. Going home on the 25th or 26th

Anyone want to join me and a couple of girlfriends, let me know.

Have a great week.

Nancy in So Ca.
