Has your wife told you to do something with that garage full of rocks you've been collecting?

OR are you like me - I am a total Gem Geek - can't stop collecting them! Gemstones, Faceted, Cabs, Rough, Beads...if it is gem related, I am all over it!!!

When you join Lapidary and Metal Arts you should get some ideas, help with projects and maybe some of those rocks will be polished and in a fun display in your home or in a lovely necklace around your beloved's neck!!!

We will post Rock Hounding, Lapidary, Jewelry and Gem information.

HI. My husband has just been asked to design a sales site for Laguna agate. We are not sure who to market it to. Collectors, jewelers, wholesalers? Anyone interested of if you have any suggestions please contact me. He went today to take pictures of some stones. This agate is from a mine in northern Mexico and the owner has moved his main office here to the states. Agates from this mine have been taken to many shows even in Europe and are said to be some of the most beautiful in the world.

Hi guys I have a large collection, I like the wire wrap for my cabs, but I think silver would be good for my faceteds. Is there a course on line? Or just how do you started in silver smithing? Has anyone sold Gems to Jewelers. I need a little operating capital. I live in LA and plan to sell wire wrap this summer in Venice Board Walk (about ten miles from my home) it gets about a million people on week-ends during the summer and best of all IT'S FREE,Wheeler @Tag-along ;-]

Hi. Here's something trippy. After spending a few hours on Eons, I went to Google to look for bead, rock, gems, jewelry shows and after not finding much, especially where I live (Los Angeles), I see your listing of this Eons group. Wow, what a trip! I was trying to find out where the rockchippers show on Oct. 18 in Woodland Hills is being held. Couldn't find any specifics. Anyone know? Is it still for 2008?
I am also interested in metal arts. I was trying to get into a senior's class at Pierce College that has an intro to metal clay at least. I'd love to know about events accessible to me and whatever you guys share about the arts. Glad to meet you all. Hope to know you better before long. Billie

April influenced me in many good ways, and especially to get interested in rocks again. She asked me to write something in rock collectors and then I think it was gems, and also rockers really rock too. I did write a number of articles. The unfortunate part for me I think was I said to much about myself to some who talked with me, and was eventually hustled. That turned me off some. Then around the first of the year I had gotten real interested in wanting meet a new love in my life, but that had many ups and downs that have all drawn to a conclusion of my now mostly negative interest in that realm. I did think of going back to college to see if I could meet a good lady there again, but it is so different from what I remember and so much more cosmopolitan that I just didn't feel comfortable there except in the mineral museum(Macay School of Mines and Mining,University of Nevada at Reno). There were certainly people/students/scientists there that were interesting peoples and I found comeraderie, which led to an invite to join the Reno Rock and Gem Society, not big deal it is only 15$ annually and 25$ for family groups. So anyway this all led to today, and my interest in my favorite hobby of geology and minerals. I see that my dear sisterfriend Marcia in Florida is a member of this group too now,so I thought I would check it out and saw April mentioned, so if she is mentioned or remembered by kindred spirits, then it has to be good. I am still in a lull over the loss of my beloved Teri, but will try and summon my intelligence and come up with some ideas for an article. My dear brotherfriend David Walking Bear in Dayton Nevada is still making many pieces of rock and gem and silver southwest style jewelry from the minerals I bring him, and I still have a few hundred pieces of it in my and my late wife's collections. I am going to give all of it to our children and grandchildren though. I can put anyone in touch with DWB, who would be interested in his work. I am currently trying to teach mineralogy to many young people who admire me which is fullfilling in ways. I love the glow of understanding and achievement in their young faces. It was especially gratifying on thursday last when a young 22 yr. old womanchild told me that she loves me like the dad she wished she had, because I always am smiling and encouraging of learning all we can and have so many things in my head to teach. So there is apperantly not just rocks in my head. Take care all, and stay stoned. Hahahah. Erik

I don't know if you are into the whole YouTube thing...I know I wasn't! I thought that YouTube - like MySpace and Facebook were for teenagers or singles "Hooking Up"!!! LOL!
