Tell PBS your Eons story!
Hello Eons members!
A producer with PBS, Gail Overstreet, is working on a segment to answer the question “What are great Boomer online communities?” We’ve told her about Eons, and she is interested in member experiences, so we wanted to help her out with her piece, as well as use the chance to remind the world of our great community and encourage potential members to check Eons out! Here is more from Gail on what she is looking for: “I am looking for real-life stories about GREAT online communities for the educated, informed Baby Boomer audience (a PBS audience!). Do you know about communities that are super-helpful, provide effective solutions and are not ones you hear about every day (i.e., hidden gems)? If you're a Boomer and have developed meaningful connections via online communities, I'd love to hear about your experiences - how did they help? What kind of support did they provide you with? What surprised you about them and/or what was unexpected? Would love to hear your stories for this PBS piece!”

She is looking for members based in the U.S. (no particular geographic region), who are in the Baby Boomer age range (48-65). Her deadline is today at 7:00 p.m. (EST). I just have to tell you....
Since I've joined Eons my life has changed for the better.
Does this sound extreme?.. it's not.. let me explain.
Some years back I got my first computer.. I was working then.. taught myself how to use it. I spent many a day at the public library learning how to find.. and use the internet.
After several years of using my computer.. I'm now on #2.. I've now found Eons!
I can't tell you how much it has enriched my life.
I'm not working now.. I haven't been working for a few years. I've spent many a day 'searching' and 'floating' along with whatever life had in store for me at that point in time. I spent many days feeling sad and just nowhere.
Now here I am.. right here.. right at home with eons. Everyone here are like family to me. I feel accepted.. loved.. and appreciated.
Because I'm adventurous I've taught myself all about the computer.. but it's since joining eons I've learned so much more.. and continue learning daily. I love it.
I've met and have become 'friends' with many really cool and special people.. since I decided to give it a try and just dive in.
This is a first for me. I've never joined and actively participated over the internet.. in groups.. as I now do.
I have a husband.. a life and responsibilities.. in fact when the time is right I want to work again. Where I end up working is yet to be seen.. as I am multi-talented and multi-task very efficiently.. but in the meanwhile I will continue to learn and make 'friends' on eons.
I love involvement and I am definitely finding it here.
I can't say enough good about my whole experience.
It has been eye opening and life changing!
I Thank God for Eons.. and I want to say "Thank You.. for being there".

Newbie to the groupie here. Looking forward to brain and life enhancing conversations and great information. I hiope to hold up my end of this new relationship with the group, as well!

Eons has allowed my creative spirit to flow, I have a few groups I started on Eons, it's fun coming into them each day and chatting with everyone about all different topics. I also enjoy being in others groups, the more the merrier. I've learned alot about different subjects and made some nice friends along the way.

Have to tell you, I pop by here any time I need a "happy fix" 'cause that how you make me feel. And... I read your posts outloud if someone is walking by my desk and it makes them happy, too. We really want to make this site as easy to use and as fulfilling as possible for every one of our members... but especially for all of you in this group. You're awesome and you have no idea how good you make us feel as we work away at the site.
