Jimmy K. got clean and sober through AA. He stayed clean and sober from 1953 until his death in 1985. Jimmy K. and Bill W. wrote each other. Bill was a big one on saying that addicts could only attend open AA meetings I think that rule might have been good in the 30's thru 60's. I think today there are very few plain alcoholics.
Bill W. did LSD!
Yes, even in his biography he admits to using government LSD25 from 1956 to 1959. Bill does not say much about it. In the 50's the government thought LSD might be a cure for alcoholism.
