Welcome to GurlArt.com a place for Working Women Artists!

GurlArt.com is a special place whose purpose is to help make women artists and their art more visible in the community and to provide nourishment for all women with arts interests. GurlArt offers a network of communication and support for those making their mark in the art world.

GurlArt.Com:

Provides opportunities for women artists to meet, to share their work, processes and philosophies and to interact with mentors, peers and protégès for mutual support and encouragement of artistic growth.

Shares information and resources for promoting the development of artistic competence and careers.

Engages in activities such as exhibitions, sales and informational programs to gain recognition for members as individual artists and as a group.

Creates opportunities for women artists in general, including girls and women art students.

Honors diversity, including differences of race, ethnicity, age, financial status, ability, spiritual orientation and sexual orientation. GurlArt opposes oppression and prejudicial attitudes and promotes learning from diversity to enrich our lives as women and as artists.

This section is very much a work in progress which will slowly fill with information about women artists that is not found anywhere else.

Creative Lady Needs Help to Help Others

Hi. I am looking for people who want to help women with little or no money to become financially self-sustaining through "Creative Women Workshops" through our collaborative Community In Action. If you are a creative person, enjoy teaching and helping others, please contact me for more info about how you can be the instrument of significant change in women's lives. I also have a 'needs list' for some supplies the women can use to practice with making basic jewelry, polymer clay gift items, sew and non-sew crafting and more in the free full day creative workshops I am coordinating for women in groups of 20-50 or more on Saturdays. Many of the items on the 'needs list' could be surplus or recycled craft items you or your friends may have at home. You can do something similar in your communities, too. Let's join together to improve people's lives and the communities in which we live! Thanks, I appreciate whatever help you can give. DenaB
