Just a quick note - name is CJ and I wanted to let people in on a piece of advice my grandma gave me a long time ago - "The only place you grow old is in your head - if you think you are old you are and conversely if you believe you are young you are" She died at 95 and the only time she seemed old is the last 6 months of her life when it seemed she started being more with those who were gone than those still here. I do not see myself as old unless I look in the mirror or see a recent picture but in my minds' eye I am still a young person and feel the same as I did in my 20s'
Bye now

Hello

Hi everyone! I love the title of this Group. Silliness is a blessing I hope to keep with me as long as my body continues to trudge along ... but the mind, the mind, the weirdness of it lets us think we are still skipping along through the daisies! ;-) It is truly a gift for the ageless. Here's wishing you all a candycane day. I look forward to reading your joyful messages. And, thanks to Marly for being so creative and creating this group!

Thank you

A big {{{{HUG}}}} and thanks to all you kids who are helping to welcome the new members, and keeping this group active, with your posts. You're all wonderful, and interesting, with different lifes styles and likes, but all kids at heart, who aren't afraid to let the kid out, Bless you all. Marly.

I'm new. Likely a "temp".

Groups and I don't usually do well. We'll see. If I didn't want to be here I wouldn't. Currently have no interests except predicting doom and trying to convince friends It's all over. Maybe they'll give me their money. I say much in jest, but I mean it. This might be fun

Cool yule

I woke up a little earlier than usual this morning, and I just looked at Marly's baby's Christmas, how adorable! I remember one year when my kids were wee ones that instead of putting the kids in the playpen we had to put the tree in it just to keep them off of it,ahhh the good ole days. Now I have 9 grandchildren ,I went to see Santa with 3 of them last weekend at the mall , its always a hoot to see the little ones reaction to Santa for the first time. Our's of course are pro's now and have no fear of Santa . The three year old did'nt want to leave until she was finished telling him what she wanted! But, enough of me blathering about my grandkids, as I always say don't get me started!!!! We will soon have number 10 in Feb.,and let me tell you its starting to get a little expensive,so if you are lacking in little ones to enjoy there are lots of ways to do so, through the many charitable organizations out there, just make sure its a reputable one.

I'm new

Just joined. Live in NW Missouri, and it's cold and windy outside. Saw this advertised on tv today and thought I would check it out. Hope everyone is staying warm. I also refuse to growup, even if everyone else around me has. It just doesn't look like fun to be a grownup. It's nearly 2am here, so I will close so I can retire for the night.

mellowing or sharpening

it seems that some people get warmer, less reactionary as they get older whilst others get, well, more cranky and rigid. Just writing this is a reminder to me for the direction I hope I am heading....

Remember the many
compartments of the heart,
the seed of what is
possible. So much of who
we are is defined by
the places we hold for each
other. For it is not our ingenuity
that sets us apart, but our
capacity for love, the
possibility our way will
be lit by grace. Our hearts
prisms, chiseling out the
colors of pure light.

Thanks 4 reply! I dont live far from Kentucky, just one state up in Indiana. We have lots of family in KY.and have set a 5 year goal of moving there! Love it, love it, love it! Snow is wonderful, till I have to shovel it, drive in it etc. Would love one day to live a little farther south in KY.,but not to far away from our kids and grandkids. I hope I never grow to old to laugh, and if I do there is always a cure! Happy Holidays!
