Holidays with Grandbabies!
How did you spend your holiday? Did you get to see your grandchildren? I'm anxious to learn how experienced grandparents figure out what gifts to give (what's cool each year).
Multiple Generations
I would like to hear who in this group has multiple generations living and involved in family life. My Grandma just died at 98; she raised me, had a wonderful relationship with my daughters - her great-grandchildren; and got to meet Gabriel, her great-great grandchild. I think this is so important in grounding children. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Grandchildren
In less than 3 weeks our daughter, son-in-law and two granddaughters will be coming out here to visit us. As we haven't seen them since Christmas (only on skype) we are SO looking forward to their visit. They are SO excited and are counting down the 'sleeps' til they arrive. Only 18 more!!
We have lots of goodies and surprises ready for them, including a scooter and lots of sun dresses etc.
We will be driving over 1 hour to pick them up from the airport. They are due to arrive after 11.30pm having travelled all day from Ireland.

Happy Summer
I just want to wish all the grand and great grand parents a wonderful summer with the grands. I consider myself blessed I get to spend time with my grand and great grand childrens. This year we willcookout and have a camp out in the yard.It is great to watch the grow.

Lure of Cyberspace
As a geologist/ educator, I believe it is very important for kids to explore the natural world. Lately though, kids are so occupied with tv, video games, computers, etc. that they are not establishing a deep connection with Nature. Is anyone else concerned?
