Flat panel TV
I am currently in the market for a flat panel (probably LCD ) about 46 to 52 inches. I want to mount this above my gas heated fireplace. The fireplace is brick and does not throw off heat. Will the heat from the hearth have any effect on the set?
Pulse Smart Pen
I was on Facebook the other day and their free gift of the day was a writing pen icon with the name of Pulse. I did a Google search for "pulse, pen" and I was able to see what this was all about. It had some extra cool features like voice recording, video, USB input, a speaker, an audio jack, 1 - 2 gig memory etc. This would be a cool gift for your college-age grandkids. iPhone 3G - Cell Phone/mp3 player/Internet/GPS
The Apples iPhone 3G was introduced to the market on Friday. Is anyone in this group considering a purchase? I am but not until November when my contract expires with T-Mobile.
I would like to hear anyone's experience with this 3G device only. They say that the internet speeds are much faster with 3G, I would like someone to confirm that.

HD LCD TV
I want to buy a cheap HD LCD TV but I do not want those generic brands. Is Toshiba a better buy than samsung? I do not have that cash to buy a sony. I do not like plasma either. Any advice?

I just joined the group and wanted to introduce myself. I probably fell in love with gadgets when I got my first cellphone - anyone remember the Motorola MicroTac from maybe 17 years ago? I wouldn't have guessed then that I'd one day start a business publishing audio short stories for downloading to mobile phones, iPods, etc., but, I just did! Is life great or what? byams

got it yesterday it came with some books and sections already on it. I can get 100 free classics until the end of October I bought one book at the e store for $7 and downloaded 3 free classics
