Are we paying too much because of...
Do you feel that companies should cut back of costly advertising so we don't have to pay so much for products?
I do!~
Over all, pet owners spend $5 billion a year on food for their animals. Companies spend millions on TV advertising. Pedigree has spent $3 million for a 30 second Super Bowl commercial.
Do we as consumers have to pay the cost of pet food advertising? After all, don't we all know we have to feed our pets already!
How about all those cereal ads?
Kids product ads and so on..

My pet food cost is rising!
Most people are having to cut back on pet costs because of the economy.
Seems pet food is going up everyday~
Do you find yourself cutting back on vet costs, grooming costs and pet brand food costs?
Any tips to help with pet upkeep costs? And how are you dealing with it if you have a pet?

Laundry Detergent Tips
I often wonder if I am the only one that does not toss out the Laundry Detergent bottle until I rinse it all out and pour it in the washer. I can do a whole load of wash.
Also you can save hundreds of dollars a year if you like to try to make your own laundry detergent.
Skip buying pre treatment of stains because your Liquid detergent can be used as a pretreater for stains.
Try making your own Liquid Laundry Detergent if you have the spare time. This recipe below makes 4 1/2 gallons. Also good way to use up all those small bars of soap laying around the tub...
Liquid Laundry Detergent recipe:
Water
1 Bar Soap, Grated (May use either Ivory Soap, Deodorant Soap, or Beauty Bars)
5 Gallon Bucket
1 Cup WASHING SODA
4 1/2 Gallons Water
Place grated soap in a small saucepan and cover with water. Heat on low until dissolved. Fill bucket with hot water, and add soap. Stir to combine. Add 1 cup washing soda and mix well. As it cools it will thicken. May be used immediately. Use 1-2 cups per load.
*Super Washing Soda: Washing Soda can be found on the laundry detergent aisle of your supermarket. It comes in a 55-ounce yellow box. Baking soda SHOULD NOT be used in place of washing soda.

Gather up your neighbors for swap
If you like to save money on clothing and household items and don't mind second hand clothes & used household items - this idea might be a fun way to swap around free stuff. Plus you will be recycling~
Gather up your neighbors for a friendly "give a way all the stuff you don't need anymore" swap meet.
Suggestion:
1. Ask that the used items be in good condition.
2. Anyone showing up at the swap meet with a bag of stuff to swap in - gets a "red ticket" to take home a bag of stuff. (meaning if you show up with nothing you leave with nothing). You must have a red ticket to enter the swap room.
Ask your local church or senior center to host the swap if it gets to big!
if any stuff is left over it can be donated to a needy family.
