Hi,
I'm Yonana and my husband and I are Wii'ers in Indiana. Tonight in fact is our Thursday Wii night. As I told an exercise group, sometimes we play a variation of a poker game on Wii night, but I won't go into that!!! Hehehe.

My daughter and husband also have Wii and have the Wii Fit also, which is fun. It will be awhile before we get one of those.

We love our Wii!

In the past two days I have found Wii in two different stores. Today, I was at WalMart when they were unpacking a huge box of Wii 'necessities'; there were six Wii consoles, a bunch of Wii Play (the game that comes with a controller), and three MARIOKART Wii with Wii Wheel! (I snagged two of the Mario Kart games.) The Wii is selling for $249.87, and the MarioKart is $49.95.

On Monday I made the monthly trip to Grand Rapids to go to Costco and they had DOZENS of Wii! However, here's the catch at Costco....well, actually two catches: First you have to be a member (It's a warehouse club like Sam's), and second it is only available as a package deal. In the package you get a Wii console, a Wii Play (game with second controller), a second nunchuk, a traditional game controller, and some game I never heard of; the price is $369.

Now, here's something interesting that I didn't know about gaming systems. They are 'fair-traded' meaning that everybody sells them for the same price! So, if you find a Wii (or XBox or PS3) at a giant store like WalMart, you will pay the same as a gaming system that you might find at a mom-and-pop game store. How does this help consumers? It doesn't.

The Ultimate Gamercise Tool against obesity

The Wii may be considered the ultimate gamercise console on the market. A programmer, Mickey Delorenzo, hypothesized that he would be able to lose weight if he played the Wii for at least 30 minutes a day. In six weeks, he was able to lose six pounds and has signed a book deal titled “Wii Fitness.” He has also teamed up with Traineo to create a Wii workout group. Users may now choose “Playing the Wii,” as a fitness activity. Traineo will in turn, motivate you to reach your goal, tools to track your progress, along with charts and graphs.

The romantic life of a video gamer typically recalls Cheeto crumbs passionately embracing Mom’s couch—the Nintendo Wii, however, has been flirting with a few different alternatives. Since its release in late 2006, the console has been enticing an audience of all demographics. And with titles like Wii Sports and the recently launched Wii Fit, this motion sensor console has encouraged players to throw out the Cheetos and push Mom’s couch aside. In fact, Mom might even come along to play, too.

“Now everyone can benefit from good exercise at the same time without even realizing it,” says Isaac Wooten, who designed both the original Wii and Wii Sports web sites, among others. In addition to introducing exercise to promote a healthier lifestyle, the Wii has been used to maintain activity in the elderly, cancer patients, injured soldiers and even stroke victims.
