The Long Road Home...
By this point in our lives (my target readers) we’ve all heard the old adage “You can’t go home.” But what do those words mean? Where is home…where we were born, where we spent our childhood, where we spend our adulthood or perhaps it’s a spiritual manifestation?
As life winds down and the drone of existence begins to wane, I’m experiencing yet another abstract phase of my passage through this world. I feel an intangible desire or need to reach back into my past and reconnect with a by-gone time and people…living and/or dead. It feels like an elusive melody that seems distantly familiar yet conversely strange and unidentifiable. Another analogy might be that of the proverbial ghost-town tumbleweed that’s being blown along helter-skelter without direction or purpose; my course home would also seem to be very skewed and filled with misdirection, but I feel that my path and hypothetical destination will be made clear (in time) by life’s prevailing winds.
