Ten Stories of Hope and Growth, Including My Own
Richard C. Scheinberg, LCSW, BCD
Self Help/Inspirational
What if someone told you that the most difficult period in your life may be a blessing in disguise? As a psychotherapist with 27 years of experience, I have candidly and succinctly summarized the spiritual and deeply personal transformation of ten people attempting to overcome the worst challenges of their lives. In this inspirational book, I also reveal how I survived the most difficult period in my own life, with the personal conviction that our common strengths emanate from a source more powerful than any challenges that may come our way.

Out of My Mind and Back to My Senses

Philosophical, Theological, Metaphysical Haiku (Hay-Ku)
by Richard Hay (ISBN: 1-5988631-5-0)
“Out of My Mind and Back to My Senses” (OOMM)” is a 2006 summation of a 40 year search for Truth as a Common Thread in All done in a haiku-like style. “Cliff Notes of the Spirit” would be an apt alternative title, as the simple insight each haiku presents provides a unique opportunity for readers to experience concise, high-impact, therapeutic dosages of the truth written in their own hearts—the Truth that will set them free. BLACK WHEELS
National Education Assn. Best Book - African American Booklist 2005-2008
Read Across America Choice
"..a literary gem..." Voices of Youth Advocates (The library magazine serving those who serve young adults)
Inspired by a true story
Nat Fowler, a fifteen year old African-American boy raised on his family farm in a predominately white part of Missouri in the late 1800’s, runs away from home when he’s accused of murder and joins the United States Army. He ends up at Fort Missoula, Montana immersed for the first time in his life in all-black culture with the 25th Infantry. A white officer, Lt. James Moss, convinces the War Department to test the modern bicycle as a replacement for the horse. Nat, an avid bicycle rider, joins the Bicycle Corps just as the U.S. Army orders Moss and 19 black soldiers to prove his theory. They must complete a journey of 1900 miles in forty days from Missoula, Montana to St. Louis, Missouri over the most rugged territory in the United States. During the journey he falls in love, discovers bigotry and hatred, finds friends, betrayal and comrades but also grows up as he enters the 20th century.
