HELP
An art show that I've been waiting for has started back up again and I REALLY want to enter my Toe Tag piece. BUT they are requiring the work on a CD. I've never documented my work on a CD before....always on slide....and know how to do that.
Does anyone here understand how that works on a CD. Do I need to put the artwork and info into something like power point or exactly how do I do the documentation.

Painting guide
I've been wanting to post this for a while but wanted permission from the owner to do so. This is a painting guide/instructions from the painting instructor at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, IN. She's a very well known and accomplished artist. She has spent years compiling and tweaking this information to make available to her students.
I spoke to her the other day and asked permission to post a link here and she gave me permission so here ya go. Very good info for newbies and oldies alike.

Murals
Well I attempted my first mural this weekend. AND I ran off and forgot to take a picture of it, will have my son take one and send so I can post. It's not the greatest painting attempt I've ever done...I don't DO acrylics on top of everything else but I didn't think it turned out too bad. It was on the wall behind the toilet....I did a sand dune with sea grasses and a peek of the ocean. Corner on the right so I had a starting place but had to fade them out to nothing on the right. Think they liked it. Next I am going to do sea shells above the mirror. It was free hand with no references but think I'll have to get my ducks in a row better to do shells and have them come out right in a specified space.
Fingers crossed
I need everyone to keep their fingers crossed for me. I am applying for the BFA program at school. Have to turn in 15 pieces, app, letter of intent today. Oral interview in about 10 days. It was kind of a last minute thing I got talked into. Probably a good thing that I didn't have much time to consider what I was doing.....may have backed out.
Nailed It!
I'm proud to announce that I have been accepted into the BFA program at Indiana University with the concentration of drawing!
New Pastel
Uploaded my latest pastel, school project that is due on Thur. so I'd like any crit that anyone would like to give. Project was a figure, in some position that they wouldn't want to be in. Figure #2 or suggestion of figure #2 that wouldn't want to see what they are seeing. Thinking it needs to get darker as it goes up the steps.
two newest
Been working on flowers, would like any feedback. The first one actually is warmer, same color as the side view (same flower), think the camera misread somehow. Both are pinkish/orange. I a little worried about the buds behind the main flower, if they are too bright, may need to be toned down. Also the stems to flower #2.

gesture drawings
I feel like a flop. I go through this in every drawing class I've ever had. Comes time for a live model and we do gesture drawings, one min, 2 min, 5 min. We do this for an HOUR before he lets us settle down to a hour long drawing. For one, I'm physically exhaused. No. 2, I am just not a scribler. He doesn't want contours, he wants us to draw from the center out. What the hell. I can see how he does it, he rarely looks at the paper, just at the figure and starts scribbling. I don't see the point as his gestures look nothing like the gesture that the model is posing. Anyone else out there either have any suggestions, some kind of smart solution for me, a shoulder to cry on, understand where I'm coming from????
2 new pieces
I just posted 2 pastels that I finished last night. The landscape is for school. The orchid is for a series that I want to start work on. I appreciate any crit, esp. on the orchid as I'm not sure I'm going in the right direction and am looking for guidance. Thanks
Beachkids
Retook the painting I did of my grandkids on the beach after I did a little suggested tweeking from friends. It's a lot clearer. I seem to notice that on a lot of my canvases, I can see the stretcher bars after painting finished. I think I get them stretched pretty tight. Anyone know what causes this, any way to prevent? Any crits on the piece itself? I'm open here. Suz
