Group Management Tools!

Ok, I'm PO'd. There is a moron running amok on Eons and I have no way of controlling him. This is not a spam issue but a personal vendetta and it has happened before, by the same individual (different id) I'm collateral damage, not the intended target.

This person started by making 341 posts in the same group. I sent a pm asking them to bugger off! They then killed the comment section of my profile with a beauty of a disgusting picture, to the tune of about 300 posts. Next they attacked my group with a very profane post, to the tune of 300 times.

I can not and will not clean up a group after these morons hit. How about some tools? It is difficult to delete someone when they do not show up in the group membership until later.

I had to shut down my comments to all users for the first time. I understand there are idiots on the web and accept that. But I want something to fight these folks. Currently I'm defenseless.

Anybody have any enhancement suggestions?

Group Homepages

Are there any plans in the works to provide more real estate to group owners on their group pages?

Right now things are limited to the group announcement for any group related items and those are getting very lengthy in some groups.

Perhaps an area or two could be provided for a group widget or static links to other items that might be of interest to the group.

Any ideas folks?

Problem Reporting

Hi Folks,

Can I make a suggestion that will help both ourselves and the Eons staff.

When reporting a problem try to provide as much information as you can. I know we are not all techno-wiz
geek squaders, but the more information we can provide will make it much easier for them to locate a problem.

I'll use the current problems with page displays as an example.

Try to provide the name of the page you are having a problem with, Profile page, My Eons, etc. In the case of the profile page provide the view that you are using, your own, friends, public.

Provide the name of the browser you are using Internet Explorer, FireFox, etc and the version if you know it.
Method of connection info like cable/dsl, phone/dsl and dialup may also be useful.

If you receive an error message try to write it down and relay that with your problem report.

Every little bit helps and will lead hopefully to quicker problem resolution.

Photos, Photos, Photos.........

Folks, when you come into the group please try to read at least the posts on the front page. There have been enough posts about photos to choke a horse in the last two days. The repeat problem reports are providing nice clutter.

Please try to add to an existing post.

Group Announcements

Just an observation about group announcements, members can reply to them but there is no indication that they have. I've found some real gems hidden away there. How about a # of replies indicator here as well.

The Big Fix!

Unofficial Weekend Notice

Eon's has had a technical problem over the last couple of days. Apparently the fix was not perfect. Some folks who were once members of a private group have been added back to those groups. If you do not want to belong to that group please remove yourself from the group.

It has nothing to do with group managers or moderators or any conspiracy.

Eon's Help Resources

How about an effort to centralize the help resources available on Eon's. There are ton's of resources available for help with hardware, software, html, navigation, FAQ's and complaint's.

The problem is the stuff is all over the place. People get directed this way and that depending on their need's/problem.

A single page with links to these resources might aliviate some of the issues involved with supporting this growing community.

Computers, Technology and Internet Soulutions

HelpDesk/Customer Support

Many folks do not get to the bottom of the page where some help is located now. How about using a little real estate on the users homepage/profile/My Eons page with a nice red button for help/faq's that would take them to this new resource page.
