Eons Tech Help – Your Source for Eons Technical Advice

Eons Tech Help is your one-stop-shop for technical trouble-shooting as it relates to your Eons experience; to be clear: this is not the appropriate place to ask what new laptop to purchase or anti-virus software to use (Please see additional groups listed below). Rather, Eons Tech Help is a forum where our most tech-savvy Eons members will assist you with troubleshooting issues you may encounter while on Eons.

These types of technical, site-related issues may include – as an example – a particular feature that doesn’t work for you; in Eons Tech Help, you’ll find helpful assistance with determining if your individual browser or computer settings are part of the technical issue at hand.

Should it be a genuine bug or issue with the Eons site, it will redirect to the Eons Team for immediate attention and you’ll be informed of the resolution.

GROUP GUIDELINES:

As with all Eons Support Groups, the Eons Terms of Use are strictly enforced: no bad behavior will be tolerated, as Eons Team firmly believes that if your comment is not conducive to the dialog, it's not relevant, appropriate, or welcome in this particular group.

If you have a specific issue, please first try using the search box at the right of the page and in broad search terms see if other Eons members have already found an answer to your question, if not please feel free to start a new discussion topic!

To start a new discussion topic, just post a message with the subject of the question in the Title box. Be sure to provide as much detail as possible when asking a question so members can provide the help quickly.

Report Bugs & Errors - 2012

I closed out the 2011 Message thread of Bugs and Errors and opened this one up.

Help EonsTeam quickly identify any potential problems with the Eons site.

Please use the following format in reporting the potential bug or error you’ve encountered on Eons – this help us to quickly identify and evaluate the potential bug or error for resolve:

1. To initiate a Bug/Error-report, simply reply to this message and go through the next few steps:

2. Include any visual evidence possible of the bug or error – this means capturing a screenshot with your computer; for more information on how to take a screenshot, please see Wikipedia’s article view link

This screenshot should be saved using a descriptive and logical name as its filename; please then upload the image to our photo center in this group.

3. To help us streamline the process of investigating potential bugs or errors, please simply copy and paste the following form into your reply with as many of the fields completed as you’re able:

A New Year, A New EonsTeam

Hello Eons members!

Please note, going forward in the new year EonsTeam will now be fully managing the four main Eons Help & Support Groups - including Eons Tech Help. We've arrived at a stage where we can take the weight off our wonderful volunteers' shoulders by managing the day-to-day duties of these groups and allow them to enjoy more fully the groups they themselves have developed.

You shouldn't notice too much of an impact to these groups as EonsTeam makes this transition, and these volunteer Managers and Moderators for the four Eons Help & Support Groups will continue to share their fantastic site knowledge with us daily.

Please join me in thanking our volunteers for the immense support they've given and will continue to offer EonsTeam and the community - this is the stuff great social networks are made of!

Locked out of account

It's been a couple of months since my wife tried to get into her account. We've tried everything we can think of. She is LadyBATES (Janice Bates). How can we get someone to allow resetting the email address and password?

Private email

It was suggested that I report this problem here.
You can read all about it on the Getting Around on Eons group. The problem/name of thread is: Private Email.
Right between Log-out and Account settings near top of screen is a white envelope symbol. When I have new private message, that symbol looks different. I think it has a hump or red dot in it. So i have a new private message. But when I click on My eons, then private messages, it isnt there in my eons inbox. Is that because I shoulda clicked on Friend Invitations instead of private messages? All other private messages i have gotten in my eons/private message inbox. Are invite messages different than other private email?
It showed up, only in my private email outside of eons which is the address i did give to eons when I 1st signed up. I could see if got it in my eons inbox AND a notification/copy at also the outside/send me notifications address. Or only at the eons Inbox. But the outside address only and not in my eons? that seemed odd.

"Eons Asks" Survey

Is there any way I can delete that survey on the My Eons page? I have seen the same one for days (weeks?) now and I've already answered it, more than once. I don't mind participating if it's something different each time; but the results surely must be skewed if one has to answer the same one over and over in order to move on to the next one.

Time stamps

Just noticed that the messages list on my home page is not sorted by time anymore. Messages are 1 minute ago, 1 minute ago, 5 minutes ago, 2 minutes ago, less than a minute ago, 9 minutes ago, 3 minutes ago, less than a minute ago, 35 minutes ago, and 1 minute ago. What happened?

Hope this is the right group for this

I keep getting a pop up for H&R Block and some coffee ad every time I come to Eons.
And it keeps popping up whenever I go from one group to another. When it pops up it knocks me out of Eons completely.
This is only happening here and no place else where I am on line.
If I am not reporting this to the right group can someone direct me to one please?

Photo Commenting Surprise

Guess what I just discovered. You can comment on a photo in a group in which you yourself are not a member.
