Finally!

Ok, I finally did it! I've signed up for the Meerkat expedition in September. If anyone has any suggestions or advice I'd really appreciate it.

Cheetahs anyone?

Hi, I am a past Cheetah Project volunteer in Namibia (March 2001). If anyone can say that Earthwatch changed his/her life, that would be me. After that project, I never left the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF). I was hooked as soon as I realized what an intelligent approach CCF has: you have to help people in order to conserve wildlife. If you'd like to learn about my experience with CCF, you can visit my web site, www.geocities.com/crocsetal and click on Working with Cheetahs. I think cheetahs are amazing, and I thank Earthwatch for having introduced me to this amazing project.

Whales and Dolphins

I'm going on Whales and Dolphins of Abaco Island, Bahamas end of June and can't wait to go. I've read several of the recommended reading and already have learned a lot about these waterbound mammals. Anyone been on this expedition before, if so any comments?

Samburu Initiative Question

Hi! My name is Shilpa and I am a student fellow going on the Samburu Initiative Research Project in Kenya this summer. I am very excited about this opportunity. I just have some questions for any past participants. 1) What did you wear? Do we need to wear linen pants? Boots? 2) When you stayed in Nairobi before the rendezvous, did you go into Nairobi? Is it safe to walk the city alone?

Thank you so much! Also, if you have feedback regarding how amazing your experience was or any words of caution, please reply!

Penguins anyone?!

Hey there everyone,
I am officially new to this and was hoping to hear from people about their experiences with earthwatch. I am interested in an expedition this august-september and am really interested in the penguins in Africa. Has anyone participated or heard about the trip. Does anyone have any other trips to recommend?

I would love to hear from you!

Participated in S. Africa's Brown Hyenas Project?

I would like to exchange emails and/or talk with anyone who has participated in the "South Africa's Brown Hyenas" Earthwatch project.

Also, I would love to talk with people who know South Africa well.

I have questions ranging from the denisty of African mammals in the area, accomodations, how much people enjoyed the research, other activities at the site, and animal parks to see in the Johannesburg area.

I have participated in the Earthwatch researches for black rhinos in Kenya, forest marsupials in Australia, and otters in California.
