Mother's Day
I don't visit her often but when I do, I learn a few things. Any way, I posted a pencil sketch greeting in the picture section for all Mothers. Thanks for being here.
Ice Cream
Once a week I eat a pint of Blue Bell ice cream at one sitting. And I love it. Also, I feel physically and mentally better at that moment and even the next day. I don't check my sugar because I know it will be high.
Any body else do this and feel better?

No News is Good News
Been a member here for a few months and posted about 4 posts with questions. No one answered any of them.
What's the point and what happened to that nurse that said she was an expert in diabetes and wanted to help? She posted twice and never helped anyone.
I give up.

Avandia
I started on Avandia(Rosiglitazone) 5 months ago when I became part of the VA Healthcare system. The VA switched me from Hydrochlorothiazide. Don't know why.
Anyway the last few days have brought TV reports of it being not good for the heart, weight gain, and possible 40% -60% chance of death fro heart attack.
Since I heard all of this, an explanation of fatigue that I've had for the last 5 months may now be understood. Befor Avandia, I enthusiastically walked 5 days a week for at least a mile everyday and when I did, my blood sugar would be normal. When I didn't walk, it would go up. I've gained 6lbs. and have lots less energy and less walks since I've been taking the Avandia.
I may stop taking them tomorrow. What do you all think?

Just joined. Type 2 for about 7 years.
For a fact...when I walk a mile during the day, my blood sugar is normal. Lost 20lbs in the past year but that did not help...the walking did. But I did both.
And I LOVE ice cream & potato chips and have them once, sometimes twice a week.
I am 64, 5'-7", 180lbs. Just divorced after 37 years.
