Dating Reality for Boomers
Many of us never expected to be single at our age. We have different issues than we did when we were younger. If you’re ready to get back into the dating scene, whether it’s just for fun or to find that special someone, this the place to talk about the your concerns with your peers.

Calling Our New Members
We've had a lot of new members join up in the past week or so. How about if you all post something that tells us a little about yourself so we can get to know you. Current members can post, too, so our new folks can learn about us, too.
I'll go first. I live in Miami, have been divorced for a long time, and teach fourth grade at a private school. I have 3 grown children, and 3 grown g-kids, however my youngest son and his soon to be bride are expecting a baby in December. My kids are in St. Louis, Chicago, and one son still lives here. I love meeting up with the friends I've made here on-line. I bicycle, crochet, and garden (read that as pull weeds).
Dating has not been easy as it seems to be difficult for me to even meet single men here let alone find someone I'm compatible with.

The Senior Experience.
I didn't want to start a whole new group for this as I think there are enough on eons. Sometimes threads are started here that are of concern to all of us in this age bracket that aren't necessarily related to dating but are related to living the single life. I thought we'd try a sticky for these topics and see what happens with it. I imagine it to be an open forum for any kind of topic (except those nasty political ones), that concerns you and you'd like to discuss with the members of this group. If it works, great, if it doesn't, it gets unstuck.
What do I mean by political....bashing of one side or another, name calling, or partisan views. What is allowed is a discussion of how government programs and decisions effect YOU as a senior.
I may regret this! LOL

P. Allen Smith
Has anyone watched him on PBS? He is the male Martha Stewart. Amazing is his ideas for decorating, vegetable gardening, centerpieces and place settings for the table, and cooking. He owns acres of land in Arkansas, and has a gorgeous home that he remodeled. Is he single? There doesn't seem to be a woman in his life, and he's good looking too. All the good looking guys are either married or gay. He'd be a perfect "wife."
What brings us love?
What brings about love? What is the most important thing to you?
What do you think of Valentine's Day?
--"Valentine's Day was a humble day of remembrance until it was made a holiday. It wasn't by some mystical event or act of Congress—the holiday part of 2/14 was created by a greeting card company. But for those who bask in this day of love, it doesn't matter. What counts is that romance comes their way."--
If you are single...does Valentine's Day make you sad or is it no big deal?
If you are in a relationship, do you and your partner make a big deal out of it or is it just another day? view link

Time to Clean House Again.
No, I don't mean my house, although I'm doing that this weekend as I've got company coming to stay soon.
Every once in awhile I check the membership list and sort by last visits. If a "member" hasn't been here in a year, I delete them. Some of you may pay attention to the number of members so you might wonder why it is going down.
Some managers send PMs to members who aren't active. I don't have the time to do that and I consider it a waste of time. If the people I delete even notice they can always rejoin.

Spamming & How It Is Done
Spamming & How It Is Done
Have you ever wondered how your name keeps getting on spam lists and you keep getting those tons of spam-mails…? Thank you email friends…! When you forward something to anyone, the list of people that it is going to go goes out in public. Anyone can cut & paste those email addresses and use them…!
I forward a lot of things via email, as all of my friends know but they never get any addresses…! The reason is simple, I cut the address from the message then add the “BCC:” for the addresses to whom I want to send the message. Yes…it does take some time & effort but so what? I am protecting my friends & family from unwanted spam..!
If you want to avoid spam then this is a n excellent way to do so. Ask your friends to do the same for you….!
