Sleep
Do you sleep with your Doxie? We do--we are allowed to get up in HIS bed!! LOL What is the deal with a small dog like them anyway?? We have a Q size bed and when that dog gets in, I hang onto the edge all night, while he stretches out and seems to take most of the bed!!
Does everyone do this for their furbabies??
Mine has a nice bed in the corner of our room, has a blanket, even water right beside the bed, SO what's his problem, having to sleep with us and make us teeter on the egde all night? !!

Doxie backs
I had to take my furbaby to the vet yesterday~back adjustment again. He has to have it monthly now, and more often IF he jumps off of something, like the bed, etc.
Their spines are differently put together than other dogs..and they just can't take a lot of jumping...My vet told me to never let him jump out of a car, off a bed, etc. so I do all that for him. About 6-7 yrs ago he jumped off my bed and became paralized. With lots of doctoring, he came out of it. I have never let him JUMP since. He is too special to me. I had to spend nearly $250.00 yesterday, for pills and his treatment.
Thank goodness for charge cards! (this included a flea pill, given once a mo.) I hope all the pills help him, he is getting so that he "stumbles" with his only back leg. he turns 12 next mo. with only one leg, it is lots of pressure on his hip and back.
He is such a wonderful dog, the BEST I have ever had..and I've had quite a few dogs!
I do NOT mind the money..he is worth every penny and more to me.
Most of the time, it doesn't cost this much when we visit the vet!

WALK
Last evening I took my doxie for a walk. He wasn't too enthuised about going along but I kept insisting--tell him 'just a little bit further--so he kept trudging along very reluctently.
Finally I told him: IF you go poop we can go home--he immediatly stepped off the sidewalk, pooped, and looked at me as if to say OK Let's go home!!! LOL
This is a true story..honest! Just ask my dog!! (he had to walk a little further too)!
