November Spotlight ~ BEAUDREAUX

Lovable and handsome Beaudreaux is our Cover Doxie for November! His owner, HarleyFXLR, delights us with the antics of this little guy ~ he is a real character and a heart-stealer!
Poor poor Ressie
My baby has a Doxie's worst nightmare, an injured back.At first we thought it was a UTI because she would scream when she peeed but it wasn't the pee causing the pain it was the pain causing her to loose it and pee. The vet gave her an ultrasound to rule out bladder stones (no charge, what a doll)and fiddled around with her back oh so gently.Viola, he found the spot that is hurting. She is on bed rest with anti inflammatory/pain meds for 2 weeks.Trying to keep a Doxie still in a crate for 2 weeks, this should be fun.
He seems to think it is just an injury at this point and not degeneration. Your love and prayers will be appreciated.

Lucy the Lucky Dachshund!

Here's Lucy, a wire-haired dachshund hailing from across the pond in the UK. Poor thing. A little worse for wear, she was trapped for six days in, of all places, a badger hole! Read about her rescue (yes, it's a happy ending) in the first reply...

Some Sad News
Remember Joan of Ark (aka 'Little Joanie')?

Joanie was the horribly emaciated little Doxie that had been found this spring, and was being cared for by a very dedicated foster Mom in Texas.
Joanie went to the bridge this morning, as she was held by her foster Mom. She had fought hard to survive, but in the end, the odds were against her. I feel so sorry for the woman who had devoted herself to Joanie's care, she must miss her terribly. I'm bawling while I'm typing this, but I can't even imagine how badly she must feel.
You can read Joanie's full story starting with her rescue at the All Texas Dachshund Rescue.com website.
Please say a prayer for Little Joanie and especially for her Foster Family.

Is it real?

He looks like a little stuffed toy!
