looking for cruise roommat

hi folks, I haven't been here for quite a while, but I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to find a roommate (female, sorry guys) for a very unique cruise to avoid paying the single supplement. This is a 21 day adventure beginning Dec. 18, celebrating both Xmas and New Years onboard. What makes this cruise so unique is that it is on a ship that was built as a 'college at sea' with classrooms and professors/lectures and labs as well as all the 'normal' cruise amenities. It takes only 280 people, beginning in Nassau and returning to Ft. Lauderdale, cruising all over South America including up the Amazon River and stopping at many exotic and interesting ports. If anyone out there is interested, please send me a private message and I'll forward all the info.

NCL

While I haven't had that bad of a trip with them, I will not got with them again. Years ago we went quite a few times. RCCL, Princess, Carnival are all tops. Holland American is great also.

Is anyone going to Barcelona in Nov for a Transatlantic on RCCL?

traveler in search of a cruise

Hi, I am looking for a last minute group cruise with a good mix of couples and singles so I don't feel too fifth wheelish. Know of anything? Caribbean, Mediterranean, anything but Alaska. Thanks!

Luggage

My 10 year old set of American ourister luggage has had it! My wife and I don't blame the cruise lines but rather aircraft travel is very hard on the stuff.
Does anyone have advice on brand or construction, materials of more modern luggage?.

We have looked at Victorinex, Delsey, American Tourister. With so many different materials, designs.....

We travel at least twice yearly, once to a resort, the other to cruise. We are in our early 60's and ease of movement and weight is important-but not so important to buy something made of carbon fiber.

Thanks for your opinions

Best

First Cruise

Looking ahead to 2009 I want to plan that first cruise - not quite sure where to go or where to start as yet. What's been most important for others when making a decision: cost, ports of call that will be visited, time of year, size of ship, where the trip orginates from, reputation of cruise line when it comes to service, entertainment, food etc. Is there a good resource book out there to help me get started.
Thanks everyone
