Are you a Conservative or a Neo Conservative?
A Conservative principle is, “If it works for the middle class, don’t change it.” (William F. Buckley). That is where Conservatives got the reputation for being against change. The problems with the presidents promise of change to keep taxes low is that they are not low.
There low for him. Middle class people don’t keep there money. Their taxes are not low.
Meaningful relief from the crushing combination of income and payroll taxes would have produced a moral and economically dynamic result. Instead the wealthy got the ‘relief’, the middle class got a small check, and wartime America got massive annual revenue losses. President Bush is not a Democrat, he is a Neo Conservative.
The goals of the Neo Conservative are the enrichment of Neo Conservative donor constituents, national debt enlargement, and creating a scarcity of social resources that justifies the NeoConservative passion for working class program cuts; the Bush tax cuts make out like champs.
Unfortunately, I am middle class and I need those working class programs. I am a conservative, and I don’t want change.

August Storm & Seasonal Update
From Karmac;
Not much change from earlier post, as pattern continues to evole as expected, with LaNina {cooling of Pacific Waters} and very warm SE and Gulf waters.
Threat remains the same, difference may be instead of strong tropical storms weakening coming ashore, the warm waters may strengthen such before inland.
Expect 2 to 4 major storms along Gulf & SE Coast making landfall.
Big news overall will be nation's heat which will be prolonged as mentioned in upper midwst, and east especially.
Possibility of small storm developing in Gulf, but will not be big deal and probably go ashore in Panhandle, bringing some rain to arid SE.
Overall tropical storm numbers issued by NOAA are meaningless, as we already had 3 which had no impact. Concentration should be on U.S. Landfalling storms only.

The Real Red America
This is the County by County voting results of the 2004 Presidential Election. Despite the election being close it's quite apparent the overwhelming majority of each state and the country as a whole did not support the Democratic Candidate

Poll
Eons political survey has released some results. Twice as many members would vote for the democrat for President as the Republican, even though nobody knows who the candidates will be. At the same time, the most trusted news person on TV was Bill O'Reilly. I can only assume the poll was flawed. Perhaps they did not count all the votes from the RED state of Florida.

Welcome members
This is a new group and we are looking forward to listening and talking to everyone. Your thoughts and feelings will be accepted here. We may not always agree with each other but hopefully we will all try to be civil and respectful toward other members of this group. Please feel free to share information, websites or anything you find of interest.
We probably will all vary in our degree of "conservatism" but I am sure that there will be a lot of common ground also. Please invite anyone you think may want to become a member. Again, welcome and let's have some fun.

Watching the Oppostion
Last night went to bed early and watchedsome TV show on a channel called "Link-TV". Don't know if you ever watched this channel, it's on Direct TV.
It is the most leftist, liberal channel on TV, but I watch occasionally to get a read on the agenda the liberals are up to.
It was a distorted, biased tunnell vision program on Global Warming, which most of it had no scientific founding behind the outrageous claims and dire consquences shown.
Then, all of a sudden, came on Hurricane Katrina, and the poor people trapped blaming the storm on President Bush, naturally.
You see, the aim of the program wasn't about the science of Global Warming or Climate change at all; it was just another excuse to blame all the earth's dalliences on President Bush. Although I expected as such, it is still interesting to watch the leftist propaganda now and then. Makes you assured you know reasonable, sane conservtives.

It's Just Amounts To One Thing
America has not been subject to terror attack since 2001. That's all that matters. Nothing else. Not gas prices, wage laws, health care etc. Nothing!
If the stores and hospitals and your loved ones are being blown up by terrorists, then none of these 'issues' will matter.
There is no other issue, there is only one; Safety of our citizens here at home.

PAUL NEUMAN, THE DARK SIDE
Paul Newman is a good actor. I really liked him in "The Sting" when I was a high school kid. I didn't get to many movies at that age, what with football, baseball, basketball and chores, but that movie is one I'll never forget. Great ending.
"Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" was another of his better efforts. "Cool Hand Luke,"probably my favorite, plus "Fort Apache, the Bronx," "The Towering Inferno," "Slap Shot," all good stuff, well, probably not slap shot. He makes a tasty salad dressing, too.
But Newman's politics aren't nearly as appetizing. I wish he'd stick to what he knows.
The legendary star of the silver screen wrote a fundraising letter and recorded a message recently for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. In his letter, he accuses Republicans in general -- and the president in particular -- of "fear mongering." He then proceeds to monger fear within the hearts and minds of the recipients of his letter.
"I am proud now to stand with a new generation of Democrats against a president who poses what I believe to be the biggest internal threat to American democracy in my lifetime," said Newman.
Wow! That's scary.
"You can take your pick of issues where Republicans are seriously damaging this country," he continued. "Iraq, global warming, civil liberties. But I resent them most for how they've destroyed the American spirit by using xenophobia and fear to hold onto power."
He resents them most for using xenophobia and fear to hold onto power. Hmm ... I'm glad Mr. Newman chose to set aside fear himself in his appeal to raise a few additional dollars for his favorite charity.
Predictably, I also heard Newman attack the administration on the economy. That's right out of the Democrat playbook. Demagogue the economy and invoke class warfare. Any acknowledgment of a robust economy includes the assertion that only "the rich" are benefiting. Newman, who has read a lot of scripts in his lifetime, was faithful to the Democrat script.
But I was talking with a one of our patients just the other day who commented on the fact that he resides on the opposite end of the financial scale from the likes of Paul Newman, yet his humble portfolio is "sizzling" in this economy.
Sizzling, indeed. If Bill Clinton were president today, I have no doubt the media would proudly trumpet this era as the "Clinton Economy" and extol the glories of the Clinton economic team every chance they got.
Criticizing this administration on this economy is a sham. The truth is, that's one of the things Bush has done pretty well. The economy is strong, the Dow Jones is at a record high, inflation is down. Deficits are down to their lowest level in many years. More than 5.5 million new jobs created over the past three years. Our economy is rolling.
Be honest, Democrats and media. If you are going to refer to Iraq as "Bush's war," then you are honor-bound to refer to the marketplace today as "Bush's economy."
Democrats don't want to acknowledge the strong economy, because that would detract from their message and their full intent to raise your taxes. In fact, today's economic boom is due entirely to the tax relief George Bush and the Republican Congress enacted after his election.
The Democrats want to rescind that tax relief. Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are building their campaigns on that pledge.
(Side note: Democrat presidential candidates are sounding so much alike, it's hard to tell them apart. In the interest of time and efficiency, rather than referring to Hillary or Obama or the others, we will forthwith christen the generic Democrat presidential candidate as "Hillarama." End of side note.)
And when they do rescind tax relief, with the help of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Hillarama will have effectively raised your taxes to the tune of $900 billion. And that's without actually raising the other taxes they promise to raise.
Hillarama are talking about free health care for all Americans. Who's going to pay for that? If you think health care is costly now, wait until you get it for free. The taxes you'll be paying will really make you sick.
Tax increases are not the answer, and tax relief doesn't create deficits. Big spenders create deficits.
In 2008, it's buyer beware. Keep your hands on your wallets, my friends.

Clinton visit
Just read in the paper this morning that Bill is going to be here for a fundraiser for Hillary-next Monday. Cost of getting inside-2,600 dollars, thought they were for the poor people? I can't imagine that there will be many there, this is a very republican area.Last presidential election this county voted 92% republican.
