Email address "hijacked" by spammers

It seems we can never be really safe. One of my email accounts has been "hijacked" and added to a list used by spammers.

It appears that one of my online Windows contacts has been affected by a modern version of a "proxy-relay trojan server" virus which turns into a trojan and cabbages onto the infected computer user's contact lists or my yahoo email account was gathered from the web and added to a list used by a "proxy-relay trojan server" virus/trojan. I say this because from what I've seen so far, "The virus infects computers with Windows operating systems. Non-Windows operating systems, such as the Macintosh OS, cannot be infected."

It appears that my only choice is going to be to open an new email account and close that yahoo one. However, I wanted to pass on some info. See first reply for info about "bogus" email and virus/trojan/worm.
