Intel's Haswell in 2013
First, there was Sandy Bridge last year. The speed demons with hyper-threading and Turbo-Boosting on some chip models.
This year, in a couple months, it'll be the next "next generation" called Ivy Bridge. Better onboard graphics and even faster performance than Sandy Bridge.
In 2013, it'll be Haswell: view link Smaller, faster, and using less power.
A pc running Win8 AND with a Haswell chip? Awesome.

Router Password??
When my rounter was setup I created a password. I am trying to connect my Tablet with WIFI and it is asking for the PW..however I cannot remember and what I had written down doesn't work. I went onto their websight looking for a reset but I needed the old password. Does anyone know if their is a way to get it or start over to create new PW. I have a NETGEAR router..
Modems
If you have a cable modem that is fairly old . Might be a good thing to check if it is outdated for your internet speed . That is if your cable company increased speed . Why i am saying this is that my Cable Company (Charter) increased speeds and i had a modem that wasn't able to benefit the increased speeds . I got 30 Mbs speed now !
Some modems are good for up to 25 Mbs I think that is what ya call it !

Spray your way to a better wireless signal!
Yeah, spray from a can like bug-killer. We sometimes need a good laugh, but this is allegedly the "Real Deal".

But Chamtech's spray-on antenna is a real product with some impressive claims. It can be sprayed on almost any surface, even trees and orange barrels. It doesn't suck up power. It works in a mysterious nanotech way....
One of Chamtech's tests turned an RFID chip with a 5-foot range into an RFID chip with a 700-foot range. The company lists a spray antenna kit on its site, but pricing for the public is not revealed. The U.S. government is reportedly already playing with the new material."...and the government will probably pay $2,000 a can...;-)

"It sounds like a particularly suspicious late-night infomercial: Spray your way to a better wireless signal! Improve your range! Save battery! Transmit over great distances under water!

Do Not Track Plus
This is a new add on for at least several browsers. I use Firefox. Very interesting to find out how many places are tracking you. The program apparently blocks them automatically. Info found on Gizmo's Freewarre (which has always proven reliable and safe - from experience) downloaded earlier today and no problems.
Registry cleaner
This probably has been covered before, but what registry cleaner is recommended? I have heard of Uniblue. Is there any other ('free' would nice, but)?
UH, OH! What is This?
I've never seen this before. I was using the internet and a window popped up saying that my router and cable were using too much power and they would be shut down. There was nothing identifying where this came from. It didn't shut down though. I was aghast! I thought how could this possibly be, so I thought right away it was some kind of virus or malware or something. I powered down the computer, then ran my anti-virus software. It didn't find anything. Powered it back up and no problem.
What do you think this was? I have a Motorola modem from my cable company, and linksys Wireless-G 2.4 GHz router. Common sense tells me they wouldn't all of a sudden start using more power than before.

ARO 211
I got a message from CNET to download a new update for my virus scan. All of a sudden it wanted to download ARO 211. It is free, but is it safe?
A question about ((online)) icon on Eons
In the Eons privacy settings, on the question “Who can see when I am online” the two choices are “Everyone” and “Nobody.”
When you choose “Everyone” the small flashing icon; ((online)) appears under your headshot or next to your screen name. If you choose “Nobody” this icon is absent.
My question is, if you choose “Everyone” does this icon appear to everyone on Eons only if you are on Eons, or does it appear whenever you are online, regardless of whether you are on Eons, at another web site or anywhere else on the internet?
