Hello All!
I've been following the goings on here for quite sometime via the Friends Activity notices in My Eons as Doc David has Posted here and finally decided that I can no longer put off joining a minute longer! In my long and checkered life I have seen both man's inhumanity to man and many great acts of compassion as well.
I'm very excited to become a member of this group and to help you achieve the aims and goals you have set for yourselves. Compassion has become a dirty word in many circles these days, having come to be seen as weakness and vulnerability rather than a strength and power that can sustain us when all else fails. How this topsy-turvy inside-out thinking has come to be is beyond my ability to comprehend and I'm not altogether sure if it is really germane to an understanding of the overall question of why compassion is a dirty word in the USA today. For the fact remains, to many it is.
I look forward to discussing and sharing this and other issues and such on the subject of compassion with you in the future!
